“No. We will not riot, Goose. Goddamn, keep that shit locked tight until we need it.”

“Come on, let me at least burn down one of their buildings.”

Striker shook his head. “No. We keep our heads down and just wait. When they strike, we strike back. But Bambi worked hard to get that fancy lawyer here, so let’s give her a chance before doing it our way.”

I tapped my hand on the table. “Thanks, Pres. I told her we would all be fine, but she’s nervous.”

“We got her back and can handle our own. Alright, Goose. How are we doing for our arsenal?”

Goose smiled and leaned back in his chair. “Fucking great, Pres. Things are going and Joker has some great connections too.”

“Good, good. I want to be filled in on every little thing. With big names like Lloyd in our shit, we gotta cover all the bases.”

Each of my brothers went around and filled our president in on our various businesses. It really got me thinking about what Savannah had said about me not having an actual job.

But the issue was, I wasn’t sure what the fuck I really wanted to do in my life. I was just coasting through life until Savannah crashed into my life. Now I was questioning everything and wanted to be a better man for her.

I knew my brothers would have my back no matter what, but I really just wanted to make that beautiful woman proud.

Striker banged the gavel on the large wooden table, making me jump after being so engrossed in my own thoughts.

“Church over, boys. Go have some fucking fun.”

We all walked out and headed to the bar. The Prospect was behind it, ready with all our beer.

I grabbed a bottle and sat down when Moose came over and sat next to me. He growled as he bumped my shoulder.

“What the fuck is up with you and Sav? You better not fucking hurt you, Hawk. I swear to fucking god…”

I shook my head. “I’m not gonna hurt her, Moose. I’m taking her on a date tonight at the Italian place next town over.”

“Wow. A real fucking date at a fancy place?”

“Yup. I fucking like her, man.”

Moose laughed. “Clearly. Have you told her about your past yet?”

Sighing, I finished the last of my beer. “Not yet. It’s not really first date material, dude. I will soon though. Goose already had this talk with me this morning.”

“Better do it soon. Don’t wanna fuck this up.”

“I know, I know. Let’s just get this first date out of the way.”

Moose ordered two shots from the Prospect. “Just don’t hurt her. When’s your date?”

“Later tonight. Why? You gonna show up and make me ask you permission or some shit?”

He threw his head back and laughed. “No, but now I fucking should. Just gonna give my girl Sav a call beforehand. Gotta watch out for my adopted daughter.”

I shook my head and smiled. “I’m fucked now.”

Moose jokingly slapped my back. “Nah. I can see you’re serious about her. You’ve made changes and I’ve heard about you hanging out at Hope Hearted. After tonight, just tell her about your past and we’ll be good. And don’t ever fucking hurt her.”

“Got it, man. I’m gonna go get ready to pick my woman up and show her how a real man should treat her. Catch you later.”

I took the shot and headed up to my room. Tonight had to go perfectly. I didn’t want to mess a single fucking thing up. Savannah wasn’t like any other woman. I wanted to give her the world.

I finished getting ready and headed downstairs. Most of my brothers were still around and whooped and hollered as I left. All I could do was smile and laugh and their antics. As much shit as they gave me, I knew they were happy for me.
