Her soft voice squeaked at the end of her sentence. I laughed as I moved closer to her. I could see her breath catch in her throat as I leaned into her space.

“Let’s just watch a movie then, babe. I’m too hungover to do anything else.”

I moved away and walked toward their common living room. I knew Savannah needed a second to pull her shit together.

I laughed to myself as I plopped down on the couch. I loved I made her react like that. It was almost like a game of cat and mouse.

Savannah came out a few minutes later with a bowl of fruit and sat down on the opposite end of the couch.

She grabbed the remote and flipped through the channels. “Anything in particular you wanna watch?”

I leaned back and spread my arms across the back of the couch. Turning, I smiled down at Savannah. “Whatever you wanna watch is good with me, babe.”

Wewerewatchingsomebaking show when Luna and Astrid came into the house. Luna eyed me, then smiled at Sav.

“Hey, girl!”

Savannah smiled at both of them. “Hey Luna! And it’s Astrid, right? I think we met once at the diner.”

Astrid nodded. “Yup. Bambi dragged me there and I’ve never regretted it!”

The women laughed as I mindlessly watched the show. Luna leaned on the doorframe and nodded toward Savannah.

“We’re gonna be doing some work this afternoon. Wanna come?”

I ripped my attention away from the TV and flew up from the couch. I glared at Luna and Astrid. “No fucking way! Savannah is not stripping now or ever. Get the fuck out of here with that bullshit, Luna.”

She just laughed while Savannah stood up from the couch and turned to stare at me.

“Excuse me? But you don’t get to tell me what to do. I’ve dealt with that for the past ten fucking years and I’m not gonna start that shit again. Fuck you, Hawk.”

Savannah ran past the women and up the stairs. I went to run after her when Luna and Astrid stepped in front of me.

Luna put her hand up and clicked her tongue. “Nope. You stay away from her. I’m taking that girl under my wing and this is me stepping up. Stay the fuck away from Sav. You’re gonna break her little heart.”

“Fuck.. I wasn’t trying to be controlling. I just…”

Astrid shook her head. “But you were. She’s not yours to claim or even tell what to do. Poor girl still isn’t even healed from her past and you’re jumping right into bed with her. We’re gonna fucking stop that shit today.”

“I don’t want to hurt her. I truly care for Savannah.”

Luna glared at me. “Then stay the fuck away from her.”

I clenched my jaw and tried to calm myself down. “I need to take her to work later. That’s why I was here.”

The women looked at each other, then shrugged. Luna stepped forward a bit.

“We’ll take her. My car is here, and she’s safe with us.”

“She’s fucking safe with me too.”

Astrid just shook her head again. “Maybe you can protect her from outside harm, but you’re just going to do more harm to her mentally. Stay away from her.”

“Fuck this. Fuck you guys, too. You have no fucking clue what you’re talking about. This is why I don’t catch feelings. Fuck women!”

I pushed past the two and stormed out the door. I didn’t need this shit from anybody. Fuck yeah, I cared about Savannah, but I didn’t have to sit there and take the drama from her little girl gang.

Climbing on my bike, I tore off, sending gravel flying behind me. I headed toward the Clubhouse where I knew there was alcohol to numb my thawing heart.
