I turned and pushed the hands away when they came right back on my face and looked to two clear blue ones.
Hawk brought my face closer to his. “Sav. It’s just me here, babe. You’re okay. Lloyd isn’t here. You’re safe with the three of us. You trust me?”
I nodded as the tears came. Hawk turned and nodded at Maverick, and Thor then looked back at me.
“I’m not gonna leave you. We’ll walk through together and I’ll stay right by your side the entire time. Come on, baby.”
From cold to caring, Hawk was a fucking conundrum of feelings. I didn’t know where I stood with him or why he was being so sweet after cursing me out. It made my mind swirl with emotions and red flags from my relationship with Lloyd.
But for right now, I needed that soft side to help me through this. Taking a deep breath, I turned to him. I needed my protector that I knew in my heart.
Hawk took my hand in his and helped me out of the truck. Slowly, we walked toward the house while the other guys waited outside.
He brought me through the door and stood there. “Anything you want here?”
I shook my head as we walked down the hall and entered the bedroom. Hawk squeezed my hand as we stood in the middle of the room.
“What do you want from here? The bed? Dresser? Mirror?”
I sighed and turned right, back around toward the door. “Nothing. It’s all his. I hate all the clothes, the shoes, the jewelry.”
With Hawk following behind me, I made my way down to the kitchen. “I would love to take some of the kitchen stuff. That’s all I really want.”
“You got it. Just tell us what you want and we’ll pack it all up for you.”
I nodded and got to work, placing all my kitchen things on the counter to be packed away. Hawk stepped away as Thor and I carefully packed my pots and pans into boxes.
About an hour later, we had finished packing up the few things I wanted. We silently headed back into the truck and headed back to Hope Hearted.
As we pulled into the driveway, I turned to Thor. “Do you know anything about Hawk’s past? He delivered Bambi’s baby girls…”
Thor frowned and parked the truck, then turned to me. “That’s not really for me to discuss. If Hawk wants to tell you, he will.”
“Is he safe? He yelled at me and now he’s all sweet. I think I should just stay away.”
Thor sighed, “Hawk would never hurt you, so never compare him to Lloyd. We all have some demons inside. We’re still working out them out. Don’t write him off just yet, Sav. But if he ever yells or scares you again, just let one of us know. Striker has a zero tolerance policy on hurtin’ women in the club.”
I nodded as I opened the door of the truck and went around to the bed to grab some of my boxes. Thor and Maverick silently helped me bring all the boxes into the house.
I brought the few boxes of clothes upstairs to my bedroom and unpacked them. It was mostly yoga pants and tank tops since I refused to bring any of the dresses back here.
When I finished putting the clothes away, I headed downstairs to the kitchen. Looking around, I didn’t see Hawk anywhere.
When I turned the corner of the kitchen, I was surprised to see a small woman sitting at the kitchen table.
“Oh, hi...”
She turned and smiled at me. Her long black hair was wavy and came right above her waist. Her icy blue eyes popped against her tan skin and black hair. The woman wore cut off denim jeans, black motorcycle boots, and a white tank top that made her breasts look amazing.
“Hey! You looking for that fine-ass man?”
I blushed and shook my head. The woman laughed as she stood up.
“Sure you weren’t. Don’t be shy. I would look for him, too. He’s fucking yummy. Anyway, he left a few minutes ago. Told me to tell you he would be back tomorrow. If you really need him, he’ll probably be at the Clubhouse drinking.”
“Uhm.. oh, ok. Thanks.”
“I’m Luna, by the way. One of the girls at Studio Forty-Eight.”
