I smiled and leaned up against the counter. “Well, nice to meet you. Wait... are you the girl who eats fire that everybody has been talking about?”

Luna threw her head back and laughed. “Yup. That’s me.”

“Well, shit. You’ve made quite the impression on this town.”

“That’s what I do. Go big or go home, babe. Speaking of... I’ve got a little proposition for you.”

I nodded my head toward her. “For me? We just met...”

“Yup. Bambi told me what’s going on since I’ll be helping here while she’s cuddling those precious angels.”

“Let’s hear it, I guess. I got nothing to lose.”

Luna clapped her hands together. “Perfect! So I bought that old bakery downtown. It’s got a killer apartment above it I want to renovate. That bitch who had it before ruined it with all that pink and gold shit. Like really, who still uses floral wallpaper other than grandma?”

I laughed as Luna threw her arms in the air. She was a very animated talker, and it made me smile.

“Anyway, I want to rip all that shit down and make it nice. You want in? I’ll pay you and when we’re done, we can talk about moving you in. I need a tenant I can trust.”

“Me? I don’t have the first clue about any of that stuff!”

Luna shrugged her shoulders. “No biggie. I can show you. So you in?”

“Uh… sure?”

She wrapped me in a huge hug, then planted a kiss on my cheek. “Great! I’ll be by tomorrow with some clothes for you and we can plan. Wait until I show you my vision. It’s gonna be amazing. Catch you later, girl!”

And with that, she was out the door and heading to an old black muscle car. That woman was a whirlwind of energy.

I turned to explore the rest of Hope Hearted and see if any of the other ladies were out of their rooms. As I walked up the stairs, I could hear the bedroom doors shutting and the woman scurrying to their beds.

Sighing, I headed to my bedroom and planned to come up with an idea to get all the women out and socialize. If I stayed locked up in my room, I would surely lose it. And I’m sure those women were dying to come out as well.

I reached my room and closed the door behind me. Finding a shirt and yoga shorts, I changed, then hopped into bed.

Tomorrow was a new day, and I was ready to see what it had in store. I needed to take charge of my life for once and make my own path.

Again,Iwashungoveras fuck and sitting at the kitchen table at Hope Hearted. Sav came into the kitchen and shook her head when she saw me.

She had on these tiny little black booty shorts with a hot pink tank top on. It made my jeans tight and this hangover better.

“Too much to drink again?”

I grumbled as she brushed past me. “Yup.”

“You gotta stop drinking so much. It’s not good for you.”

She moved around the kitchen and hummed as she whipped out all her kitchen things from the house. A glass of orange juice landed in front of me as Savannah turned back to the stove and got to work.

“Drinking numbs the shit I deal with.”

Savannah sighed. “I deal with shit too, but you don’t see me drinking.”

“Yeah, but you cook. I’ve got nothing but the club.”
