Striker stands above me as Mad Dog slowly stands. He points to him and then points toward the door. Mad Dog quickly escapes as Striker and I glare at each other.
“What the fuck is going on, Goose?”
I wipe a drop of blood from my face and huff, “Nothing. Bambi and I were talking and Mad Dog had to get in the middle of it.”
Striker runs his hand down his face. “Bambi again? What the fuck, man. You can’t go beating up every Brother because they’re protecting her.”
I slowly get up and lean on the large kitchen island.
“It’s not like that, Striker.”
He just shakes his head in disappointment. “Do you love her, Sawyer?”
“No. I can’t love her.”
The kitchen door flies open and in walks Maverick. He turns to me and angrily points in my face.
“What the fuck is going on? Bambi just flew out of the clubhouse in tears.”
“Nothing. We fought again. It’s fucking done.”
Maverick growls as he inches toward me, “Just leave her the fuck alone, Goose. She deserves more than you. She deserves to be treated right.”
I slam my hand against the counter, needing to feel some kind of pain. Craving violence, like it will solve all my problems.
“It’s not like that! Fuck. Nobody knows why we play these fucking games.”
Striker looks at me, “Then tell us because I’m sick and tired of this shit in my Clubhouse.”
I sigh as I grab a stool and go back to the nightmare...
––––––––
WE WERE WALKING RIGHTinto our enemy’s territory. Levi was all pumped up as he followed close behind his father, Bear. Silas and I stayed close to our Pop as we circled The Shadow Raiders clubhouse.
We could see all the men partying through the dirty windows. They were sloppy and falling all over the place. I could see some men sniffing drugs off the bar.
Bear shook his head as he turned back to look at us. “These fuckers make me sick. Eyes and ears open, boys.”
We nodded as we moved around the clubhouse. Through one of the windows, I spotted Bambi in a tiny red dress, dancing on top of a table. Men were pawing at her and she smiled down at them.
I felt sick to my stomach and turned to look away. Bear grabbed my shoulders and pulled me back.
“I can’t fucking do this. I can’t see her like that.”
Bear shook me, “Man the fuck up, Sawyer. Don’t let what you see fool you. People will do anything to survive.”
I tried to shake the feeling off of me, but it just wouldn’t go away. Through the window, I could see Bambi stop dancing and step off the table.
She made her way to the old door, and I knew this was my only chance to save her. As she opened the door and stepped out on the terrace, I slipped into the shadows and made my way toward her.
I slowly approached her as she turned. Bambi gasped, and I put a finger to my lips to tell her to be quiet.
“Come on, Bambi! Hurry before they come out to get you. This is your chance to leave.”
Bambi just shook her head at me. “You can’t be here, Sawyer. Go before you get hurt. I’m fine. Please.”
I shook my head and held my hand out. “Bambi, don’t be ridiculous. Let’s fucking go.”
