Bo mumbled under his breath, but I thought I caught the words, "You wore me down. So many questions."

After entering in the address, I reached for the radio.

"Mind if I play some music?" I asked.

Bo shook his head.

"No, you don't mind? Or no, you don't want me to play anything?"

"You're doing this on purpose," he said.

"Doing what?" I asked innocently.

"Stop."

"But Stryker, I thought you liked my questions."

Bo's frown remained, but I swore I saw amusement flash in his eyes. I considered that a win. With a shrug, Ihooked my Bluetooth up to the radio system and started one of my playlists. Bo, surprisingly, didn't complain. In fact, I caught him tapping the steering wheel after a minute. I couldn't hold back my smile.

We arrived at our destination about 20 minutes later. It was a two-story with a nice yard and garden gnomes. After Bo pulled over to the curb and turned off the engine, I turned to give him a look.

"You're not really going to make me wait out here, right?" I asked.

Bo shrugged. "Why not?"

"Because I'm good with people."

"And I'm not?"

"Well…"

"Kent, just sit here. I've got this."

"But I could get heat stroke."

"I'll crack a window."

My eyes narrowed. "You're not funny."

"Then why are you smiling?" he asked.

"It's my default," I said, though yes I did find his dry, sarcastic sense of humor somewhathilarious. But right now, I just wanted him to give in. "Stryker, we're a team here."

Bo looked like he was the one who wanted tolaugh. Instead, he just scoffed.

"We are," I insisted. "We're partners in the flower trade, a new brand of superheroes bringing people happiness in the shape of bouquets. I've already started calling you Flower Boy in my head."

"Kent, you are so weird."

"All the best people are," I said. "Let's go do this delivery, our first mission together."

Bo was looking at me like he thought I was crazy, but after a second, he nodded.

"Alright, Kent," he said. "We go together."

I fist-pumped.

"But I carry the arrangements," he said, pointing to my face.
