"Okay," I agreed.

"You just smile all sunshine-y andget them to sign for the flowers. We're in, and we're out.No muss, no fuss."

"Got it, Flower Boy."

Bo grabbed a ball cap. It was the same as mine except instead of mint green, his was black, and he'd obviously worn it before because it fit him perfectly. The hat shadowed his eyes, making the contours of his cheeks and angular jaw stand out even more. Not gonna lie. It was a very sexy look.

"You ready?" he asked.

I nodded, still entranced. "Yep."

"Is there something wrong?"

"No, why?"

"You're staring."

I forced a laugh. "Was I? It must've been because I'm so excited. To deliver the flowers. Obviously."

Bo's eyes narrowed, and that made him look even more hot.

Ugh, stop this madness.

"I'll meet you out there," I said, quickly getting out of the car.

Bo met me at the hoodof the vehicle, and we walked up the driveway to the front door. I rang the doorbell, and we waited. A minute later, the door opened, and I saw a woman in her mid to late 40's. Her hair was in a messy updo, her clothes were rumpled, and her eyes looked a bit tired.

"Yes?" she said.

"Good morning," I said brightly, "I'm Charlotte, and this is Bo. We—"

"If you're here to sell me something, sorry. I don't need a new security system, and I'm not switching religions any time soon.I have three kids who are all home sick with a stomach bug,so I don't really have time to talk."

"Oh no, of course not. We have a delivery here for Jackie Adams. Is that you?"

The woman blinked. "Yeah, that's me."

"Oh yay!"

I held out the clipboardand pen for her signature. "If you'll just sign here…."

After she signed, Bo handed her the flowers. "Here you go," he said. "You'll find a card in the bouquet."

"Oh," Jackie murmured. Her face changed right before our eyes, goingfrom wariness to surprised joy. "I didn't realize…thank you."

I smiled. "Someone obviously loves you very much."

Her happiness was a palpable thing. As she read the card, her eyes got teary. "Ah, my mom. She remembered my birthday—and I nearly forgot." Looking back to us, she said, "Thank you again. This really made my day."

"You're welcome," I said, "and thank you!Happy birthday, and I hope you enjoy your bouquet fromMrs. Lee's FlowerShop."

As Bo and I got back in the van, I grinned.

"That was amazing!"

Bo's jaw twitched. "Where's the next address?"

"Entering it now," I said, and then we were off.
