“Are you okay?” He ran his tongue up my spine.
“Perfect.” My heart beat at a runaway pace. “Happy Valentine’s Day.” I almost laughed.
He nipped at my neck. “Happy Valentine’s Day.” It was definitely sexier when he said it.
When he slid out of me, I flinched at the ache. Sore and sated, I collapsed onto the bed. He walked into his en suite bathroom. I heard water running, and then he returned with a warm washcloth. After wiping me clean, he lay down next to me and pulled me into his chest.
I just fucked Professor Elliot. I lay my head onto his chest, the quick beat of his heart fluttering against my ear. Should I leave? I wasn’t sure what to do, but I didn’t want to go. Not after what happened in the woods. I felt safe with him. With Ryan.
“What are you thinking?” He ran his fingers through my hair.
I glanced up at him. “Nothing.”
His fingers tightened in my hair until my scalp stung. “Don’t lie to me. Ever.” He relaxed his grip. “Let’s try that again, Penny. What are you thinking?”
If the sex and the pillow talk were any indication, the dominant classroom persona wasn’t a persona. Professor Elliot was just as intense as he seemed.
“Just that I want to stay… Here with you.” I braced for the brush-off.
“Good.” He kissed my hair. “If you want to freshen up, the bathroom’s right through those doors.”
I blinked. “Y-you want me to stay?”
“Why wouldn’t I?” He kissed me again.
“I don’t know. I just figured you didn’t let women spend the night.”
“You’re not just any woman.”
My heart thumped against my ribs. Could he hear it?
He ran his hand down my side and squeezed my hip. “Now go to the bathroom. Then get this fine ass back to bed.”
