My Adrienne,
Today is Thanksgiving. Your favorite holiday. Noelle, Leah, and I have been busy cooking the past two days, making all of your favorites. Noelle showed me how she cooks her turkey since I burned it last year. I’ll be sure to get it just right for our first Thanksgiving together again. I recorded the parade for you again this year. The Rockettes were as perfect as they always are. I know they’re your favorite.
I’m missing you every day, but today more than usual. This day was always so special to you. I remember you telling me about traditions that you had with your family growing up. How breaking the wishbone was a huge competition between you and your dad. You always won. You knew that he let you win, but he was always so proud of you so you never let him know it.
I went out and laid flowers on their graves earlier, just like we used to do. Don’t worry, I picked the best arrangement of sunflowers, poms, aster, and alstroemeria that I could get. All of your mom’s favorites. I asked them to keep watching over you and to bring you back to me. I prayed that it wouldn’t be long until we were together again.
With Love,
Your Marshall
