She flushed. “Don’t ask me that.” Her eyes darted towards the window where we could see Thor’s back.

“How many?” I asked instead.

Her flush turned crimson. “Jolie,” she hissed.

Snickering, I relaxed in my seat and turned the massage chair on. “Fine, but you are going to fill me in on your secrets later.”

“Anyway, he blew up at me and I reminded him that we had never been official or exclusive, so he shouldn’t be so mad. He growled at me and left. That was two days ago and I haven’t heard or spoken to him since.”

“Wow,” I whispered. “I’m sorry.” Although polyamory wasn’t common, there were plenty of us who had it, but it wasn’t easy. I knew I was lucky to find a group of men who got along and didn’t have an issue sharing me. Some people weren’t so lucky.

She sighed and let her head fall back against the chair. “I really care about him, but…”

“But you care about them, too,” I finished for her.

She gnawed on her lower lip and nodded.

“Are the others okay with the fact you won’t be monogamous?”

“Yeah. They were all really supportive of me doing what was best for me. Honestly, it kind of freaked me out at first. When such dominant males are willing to share, it worries me.”

“You’re just being paranoid. They see that it works for their princes and realize that with the female population being so low, it would behoove them to accept a mate who has other males already.”

“Behoove?” she asked and arched a brow at me.

“Fox got me a word-a-day app. It’s been pretty interesting.” At first, I thought he was being rude, but it really did help me learn new words and I enjoyed incorporating them into discussions.

“I should get grumpy wolf one,” she muttered.

I laughed and nodded. “Please do! And let me be there when he opens it.”

Her smile returned and she chuckled. “I can already picture it. The pure indignation on his face.”

We both laughed loudly and I could tell it eased a bit of her worry as her shoulders relaxed a few centimeters.

As we got our pedicures and leg massages, I thought about my home. So much had happened since I had been reunited with Leona. Good and bad. I needed to return to Atlantis soon to spend time with my father and let him spend time with Caleb. The last time I’d seen my father was when Caleb was born and we’d had the huge battle against the dhampirs and vampires.

The ground shook and the woman painting my toenail smeared polish everywhere. “I’m so sorry!” she gasped.

“It’s okay, that wasn’t your fault,” I said and turned to look out the window.

Thor was no longer standing there and a huge shadow had fallen over the ground outside.

Leona sighed. “You attract so much danger.”

My mouth dropped. “Me? How is this my fault?”

She shuffled across the salon, careful not to dislodge the cotton spreading her toes apart and preventing the paint from getting on the others. She pushed open the door and immediately had to jump back as a huge tail smashed into the front window and door, destroying it completely.

Up and out of my seat, I put on my flip-flops to avoid stepping on the glass and rushed to Leona who was already up on her feet.

“I’m fine,” she said quickly and dusted herself off.

Outside, we could see Thor in his half-shifted form fighting a dragon.

My lips pulled up in a growl and I marched outside. “Stop!” I shouted, pulling on the bond I had with Rhys and Deryn at the same time. I felt scales flow over my skin, protecting my vital parts, and my hands turned into wolf paws.

Thor and the dragon stopped and turned to face me.
