Jesus.

He steps forward, and I hit the counter behind me. His eyes bounce between mine, and he reaches up and unhooks the towel, letting it puddle to the floor. There’s a mirror behind him, and I can see myself.

My face is flushed from being in the warm water. Wet pieces of hair are falling around my neck, and my body glistens.

“You’re fucking gorgeous.” He inches closer and crashes his lips to mine. His hand wraps around my back, possessively pulling me closer as his other hand takes hold of my neck. Our tongues twist and intertwine.

We bite and taste as he sets me up on the counter. My legs spread, and he pushes into me.

“Are you wet?” he murmurs against my lips. “Have you been thinking about me sinking inside this?” He moves his hand over my thigh and runs it down my softest place. “And slow fucking you until you see stars?”

I let out a shaky breath as I think about that exact thing.

Jesus Christ. I’m digging this dirty talk from him.

With our lips still touching and our teeth lightly biting, I reach and undo his belt and pants. Sliding them down, I guide him to my center, and he sinks. My mind goes blank, and my toes curl. He breathes in, just like me, and pulls out so slowly. “Man, I needed this,” he says.

My ankles wrap around his back, and I push him closer as I lift his shirt up. His tongue licks my lips, and I grip onto his forearms.

“You feel like home,” he murmurs.

He kisses me harder and steps out of his pants before picking me up and resting my back against the glass window. Hands grip thighs, and as I hold on to his neck, I shut my eyes, thinking,Please, God, don’t let this man break my heart. I’m not sure I would survive it.

“I might want you here every night,” Bryce says lazily as we lie in bed.

I grin. “You’d kill me.”

He grins more, and it’s heaven. Bryce Grant has the smile of a god.

We just lie and let our eyes wander over each other’s faces. I think about everything I’d like to tell him, but it’s late and I’m worn out. “Goodnight, Mr. Grant,” I say with a lazy smile.

“Goodnight, K.”

I turn over and shut the lamp off, and not too long after, I’m being pulled against him where I fall asleep.

Chapter Twenty-Six

Bryce

Dreams… they pull you under like a strong current. You’re defenseless, having to give up and let it take you. Mine switch from one scene to the other. Mom and Dad fighting. Jace crying because he’s hungry. Me getting caught stealing and running for my life because if I get locked up, who will watch out for my kid brother?

Cars flipping, glass shattering, dead bodies.

“Are you okay?” I blink my eyes open just as a sharp pain stabs my head. My mind tries to clear the fog. What just happened? Where am I?

“I’m going to get you out, okay? I’ve got to cut the seat belt.”

I groan, touching my head and feeling something wet. My eyes open wider as I try to focus on what’s on my hand. Blood. I’m bleeding. Seat belt. I’m in a seat belt. Jace? My heart kicks up, and I come to completely. I look to my right, but my brother isn’t there.

“Jace,” I say urgently.

“Calm down, son. Just a little bit longer and you’ll be out. Stay still.”

But I can’t stay still. Where’s my brother? I look around, trying to see any sight of him in my upside-down state.

“Hold on,” the man says. He puts his arm under me, and in a snap, I fall.
