"No," I hummed.
"It means that I have the privacy to do every disgustingly dirty thing I've ever fantasized about with you." My breath hitched, and I forgot all about any birthday plans we'd had. I wanted to spend all night exploring all of those fantasies.
"Th-that doesn't sound terrible," I stuttered. "In fact, we should..."
He released me, taking a step back. "Such a naughty girl," Jax teased. "We should go before I throw you over my shoulder, and we go break in the new bed."
"Or shower," I suggested. "Or kitchen countertop."
His tongue swept across his lips before sinking his teeth into his bottom lip as his gaze raked over me. "We have reservations." He groaned, a strangled throaty sound. He was struggling with premade plans and new plans. "Let's go before I change my mind."
Jax and I slid into my car since I was in a dress and didn't want to deal with a dress on the bike.
"If you could have anything for your birthday," Jax started as he swerved into traffic. "What would it be?"
I considered the question for a minute as I stared out the passenger window. "To have just one more birthday with everyone. Like we used to before we all got lives that don't always coincide."
"Damn." He sighed. "I was hoping you were going to say a trip to some lavish exotic island or something I could actually give you."
"That would be nice too." I smiled.
Jax swerved the car into the bar parking lot, and my brows pinched. "Jax, the bar is closed tonight."
"The bar is never closed." Jax frowned.
"Monica said they had an inspection, and they failed or something, so it was closed for the night."
"Are you sure?" Jax scowled.
"Jax," I pointed to the bar, "the parking lot is empty, and the bar is dark. So, yeah, I'm pretty sure." This was his big birthday plans that he supposedly put a lot of thought into? The bar? This was my least favorite place in the world.
He opened his door and slid out. "Then I guess it will be quiet for just the two of us."
"Right," I said, pushing my door open and sliding out, not bothering to hide my annoyance. "Except it's closed, which means it's locked."
"Is there an alarm?"
"What?" Was he serious right now? "No, but I'm not committing a felony on my birthday."
"Trust me." He smiled, sliding into my space. His hands cupped my face, and I leaned into his touch. "No one will know." He dropped his lips to my ear. "How many times have you fantasized about me fucking you on top of that bar?" Never, until now. Now, I literally couldn't think of anything else. "About me bending you over a table and sliding my cock into your tight, soaking wet pussy." Excitement and arousal buzzed across my skin as I melted against him, and suddenly, a felony didn't seem so bad.
"Okay," I said with a shaky breath. Jax stepped back and slid his hand into mine. The minute the seductive heat of his breath left, so did the fearlessness, and the panic came back. "Omigod, I'm going to jail."
"You're not going to jail." He laughed. "No one will ever know we were here."
Jax pulled his hand out of mine as he fidgeted with the door knob. My gaze flicked over my shoulder like I was on the lookout. "Jax, are you sure about this?"
"Got it," he said, and my gaze snapped back to him as he pushed the door open.
"We're really doing this?" He placed his hand on the small of my back, giving me a gentle shove, and I stepped into the darkness. "Okay, we are really doing this."
"Stay here," he whispered. "I'll find the lights."
"What?" I reached into the darkness for him, but he was already gone. "Jax." He didn't answer. This was insane. He was going to turn on the lights, and we were going to get caught; I was going to go to jail, and I would lose my job. I turned to the door, changing my mind. This was a terrible idea. I winced as the lights flashed on and yelped when a crowd of people shouted, "Surprise."
As my eyes adjusted to the light, they swelled with tears. He'd planned a surprise party. My gaze scanned over the crowd. Everyone was here: Trystan, Cam, Owen, my dad and Jax's mom, Syn and Harper, the girls from work, and even my boss and Alex.
"Happy Birthday, Kai." Jax smiled as his hand curled around my hips.
