No, my Storm wanted to feel the brand of my psychotic darkness on her skin, just like I wanted to feel her loving warmth on mine. And as blood dripped down my chest from under her nails and smeared into my skin against her palm, I filled her up with my come, knowing I’d never be whole without feeling how I felt in that very moment.

She embracedme.

The real me.

And I’d never hide it from her again.

Chapter 17 – Olivia

“Ihate this.” I hissed as we walked up to the front door of Peyton and Dane’s house.

Maddox smirked at me and slung his heavy arm over my shoulder, pulling me into his side. “The reward I’ll give you when we get home will be so worth it.”

I elbowed his side in indignation before contemplating it. “Give me a hint.”

He chuckled and leaned down into my ear, “It has to do with orgasms. And food.”

“Mmh.” I moaned and lost the fight, holding back my grin. “I accept those terms.”

“Good.” He opened the door, and we walked into the foyer. Instantly, I adjusted my heavy cardigan over my stomach. I lived in leggings these days and luckily for me, winter was swirling all around us, so it gave me a good reason to layer up to hide my bump. But it wouldn’t be fooling anyone for long, so I was out oftime. Even without Maddox’s ultimatum in the tub yesterday, I knew I needed to woman up and tell Peyton and Dane the truth.

As we walked through their expansive house, Maddox tightened his hold around my body like he could feel the nerves building inside of me.

“Oh, hey!” Peyton called from the kitchen as we rounded the corner. “I didn’t know you were coming over today, I planned to come to see you in the morning.”

I smiled awkwardly with a shrug and then took a seat on the barstool at the large island. Maddox lingered right behind me with his hand on my shoulder as Peyton finished putting a pan into the oven and then turned and wiped her hands on a towel.

She must have been able to sense the anxiety rippling out of my body, because she paused and looked between the two of us. “What’s going on?”

Dane came into the room through the pantry and nodded in greeting, “Hey guys.”

“Shh.” Peyton waved him off as he paused at her side with a perplexing look on his face before he caught onto the mood in the room. “Liv.” She pressed on, “What’s wrong?”

“Nothing’s wrong.” Maddox answered confidently, “But Liv has something to tell you.”

Peyton’s green eyes flicked back and forth between us rapidly as I opened my mouth to say the words, but they were stuck in my throat. “I—”

“You what?” Peyton looked so worried as more silence fell between us. Jesus Christ, I was fucking everything up.

“I’m pregnant.” The words hung in the air after I blurted them out, and the nausea that burned in my throat only intensified as I wished I could take them back. I didn’t want anyone to know because I didn’t want them to make me feel worse for it.

My baby deserved to be cherished and celebrated, not to be regretted.

“You’re—.” She stammered and then looked at Maddox as she shook her head. “Oh, my god!” A huge smile split her face as she clasped her hands together in front of her. “Congratulations, you two!”

“No.” I shook my head, halting her celebration, and her smile fell when I didn’t return one. Maddox rubbed his thumb over the back of my neck, lending me his silent support as I ripped myself open to my sister and her husband. “It’s not Maddox’s.”

Peyton’s mouth opened and closed and then her lips pursed tight as she tried to decipher what I said. “What does that mean?”

“P.” Dane put his hand on hers and I could feel the way he was trying to lower her reaction before she let her emotions build up.

“What?” She snapped at him and then turned back to me. “Whose is it then?”

I shook my head, unable to say the words out loud.

“Damon blackmailed her into more than just her involvement with the Velvet Cage.” Maddox replied.

“Damon.” Peyton gasped and her eyes fell to where the counter hid my stomach. “Liv.” She shook her head in horror as tears filled her eyes. “Oh, Livvy.”
