Much too quickly, he made a strangled noise, his balls drawing up tight next to his body, and I almost choked again, this time on his release. I couldn’t hold back the brilliant smile as I pulled off. I’d made him come.

Score one for enthusiasm.

I grinned up at him, panting and flushed and... oh. Well he didn’t look like he was done at all.

There was no such thing as enough of Alexis Mena.

Sure, whenever I’d imagined us together, it’d been in a bed, somewhere private and quiet where we could look out the window and see nothing but trees. I’d always thought I’d take him up to the mountains for our honeymoon, but I wouldn’t have split hairs about that window being in our own bedroom.

Now, we were in a barn, and it was so far from what I’d imagined—what I wanted to give him—but Alexis was so goddamned perfect that it didn’t matter. I still wouldn’t have wasted one second changing a thing, not if that second meant being away from him.

I kissed him hard, the bitter, salty taste of my come on his tongue. Fuck, why did I like that so much?

He moaned into my mouth as I hitched my pants up, hissing as denim and the elastic band of my boxers dragged over my sensitive skin. Everything on it right then was too much, but all that was forgotten the second he stepped back. I stalked after him, unwilling to let him get away.

“So good,” I mumbled, reaching for him. “Lex, that felt so fucking good.”

Thank god my arm was long enough to close the distance between us. I gripped the back of his neck and dragged him in for another kiss. I tasted his mouth, then pressed my lips against his forehead, glancing past him.

Needed more, had to have him closer, but there wasn’t a perfect spot in the barn. I had to think fast, move before I lost my nerve.

Over one of the stalls, we’d hung the new blankets for the horses. Grabbing those, I turned Alexis toward the ladder up to the loft.

“Up.”

He was quick enough to scramble up there, not questioning my sanity even when we both should’ve.

I followed after him, laying out the blankets before I held his hand. “This okay?”

He nodded, pushing up on his toes for another kiss. After so long, neither one of us could stand to be apart for more than a second or two. When he sat back on the blankets, all I wanted was to tumble right after him.

“Wanna get close to you,” I said, shucking my clothes and leaving them behind me. Already came, and maybe given enough time, I could do it again, but this wasn’t about that. I just needed his skin against mine, nothing between us but sweat and panted breaths and ten years of longing.

He looked at me with open want, and I wasn’t sure how I’d been so thick to miss that. Everything he felt was so clear in his bright eyes now, the flecks of green even standing out in the dim light of the barn.

Alexis wanted me, and I’d left him waiting for too long.

I fell to my knees on the blankets near his ankles. They were spread on either side of my bent legs, but I didn’t push in fast. I undid his belt, his pants, and slowly slid them down his legs while I watched him fall back on the blanket and his Adam’s apple bob in his throat.

That was as nervous a swallow as I’d ever seen, but I bit my lip and ran my hand up his bare thigh. “You’re beautiful.”

He shivered, his knees locking together. Under his briefs, his cock was a rigid line I wanted to see more of.

“Not the right word?” I asked, wincing.

“No,” Alexis gasped. “No, it’s perfect. Just—”

He glanced away from me, and I touched his chin, gently turning his head back to look at me. Funny, how he was nervous all the sudden, but down there he’d been pushy. He’d taken what he could get from me.

Must not’ve been as easy to trust I was there to give to him too, after I’d held him away for so long.

“Always been beautiful. I do anything you don’t like, you’ll tell me to stop? Any time.”

Finally, he huffed. Even gave me a little glare.
