Kat turns to look as the open door reveals the large man knocking gently against it. “Noah, what’s wrong?”

“Oh, I'm sorry to disturb you. The door was ajar, but I didn’t know you were busy.”

“Uh, yeah.” Kat stands and pulling the bathrobe to cover herself, her cheeks flush with a bright amber glow.

“Fuck,” Darius growls as he adjusts the pressing hard want of his dick in his pants. “Noah, did you want something because you’re right… we are a littlebusyright now.”

“No. I just came to tell Kat that I’m off to the city this afternoon to pick up supplies and speak to a woman at a furniture store. One of the girls from the village told her friend about me; now she’s interested in my goods.”

“She’sinterested in your goods?” Kat stifles a smile and kicks at Darius’ leg as he sniggers behind her. “Oh, you mean your carved furniture?”

“Yeah. She also had a friend who might be interested in buying my jewelry for her store. I thought I’d go speak to them while I’m there and I wondered if you and QT might want to tag along for the ride? I know you said yesterday that you wanted to visit the bookstore near the club.”

“Oh yeah, yeah, that’s actually a really good idea. And I was going to see if I can schedule a final meeting with Alana. I wanted to get one more session in before the evaluation, but don't worry, I can easily grab a cab back after so you won’t have to wait.”

“You’re going out?” Darius frowns with a whispered growl. “But I thought… well, I thought we could go to the pool house and play for a while?”

“We can play later.” She smiles, brushing a kiss gently against his lips. “I really could do with seeing Alana—it’s important because I’m going to get Marco to re-arrange the evaluation and try to pull it forward if he can. Darius, I need to get back training on the base as soon as I can. It’s the only way I might improve my fitness.”

“But do you really need to see Alana again for that?”

“Yeah. Why, is that a problem?”

“No, no problem. Just as long as all this talking is helping. But what exactly do you talk about—that might help so much?”

“Just stuff… emotional stuff. Some things from the past that I guess I haven’t dealt with fully.” Kat cups her hand on his chin and drops a kiss on his lips. “Don’t worry, it’s all good. It’s fine—you’ll see.”

“Okay. Well, in that case, how about I book dinner at that fancy restaurant you wanted to try? I can drive down to the city later and pick you up from her office? Then maybe we could stay over in the hotel for the night?”

“Really?” Kat smiles. “Do you think you’ll get a reservation this late in the day? They must get pretty busy.”

“Don’t worry about that. I have a few favors I can call in.”

“Okay, that sounds like the perfect plan. I should go and get dressed first.”

“Kat…” Darius gives her a wry grin, “pack the burgundy.”

“Oh, no. No, burgundy is only for special occasions or when I need a big favor,” she laughs.

They both look up and Digby steps up next to Noah in the doorway. “Hey, so are you busy right now?”

“Oh great,” Darius groans loudly. “Doesn’t look like we are now. Not unless you both want to come and join in?”

“Oh, uh… sorry, you are busy? I guess I’ll come backunless… were you serious about us joinin’ in?” Digby growls as a huge grin breaks across his face.

Kat smiles and bites at her bottom lip as she considers the image that floods her thoughts of the three of them and just her—naked in the office.

Noah’s face drops and as he fidgets awkwardly, he coughs to clear his nerves. “I’ll go and tell QT to get ready.”

“Hey, no hold up big guy. I need you back here.”

“Oh no, I'm sorry, this… this is not my scene. I mean, I can’t do that—I don’t want to get jiggy with you all. No, I’m not doing that.”

“Getjiggy?” Digby frowns. “What the hell is ‘get jiggy’? Kat, what the hell is he talkin’ about?”

“Noah it’s fine. That’s not going to happen don’t worry.” Kat laughs as she steps forward and reassuringly strokes a hand on his chest, brushing a gentle kiss on his lips.

“Ohhhh… uh no…. Noah, no, I don’t mean for us to… to dothat.” Digby sighs. “No, what I meant was I need to speak to you because Marco’s now comin’. He has those results for us.”
