Only when I sense the usual tension surrounding us, do I pull back.

Matteo glares, studying my face.

Before he can say anything hurtful, I hit him with my own words.

“I still hate you.”

He chuckles darkly, his mouth dropping to my ear.

“Good, because I still hate you. Fucking you changes nothing.” He grunts but there is no heat in his words, none of his usual hatred.

My stupid heart flutters in my chest but I quickly tamp it down. It’s not like Matteo suddenly feels anything for me. The reason for him tolerating me is most likely because he is sated, his guard down after what can only be described as amazing sex. That’s all this is. I’m sure of it.

Our release drips down my thighs, evidence of what took place in the darkness of his car.

Doubt tugs at me after what he alluded at earlier. I inwardly snort. Maybe I am a whore for allowing him to screw me inthe backseat of his SUV. But for some reason, I don’t regret it. Matteo may hate me, but he can’t deny this attraction. Not anymore.

Laughing softly, I sigh, dropping my forehead to his shoulder.

“Glad that we are on the same page, asshole.”
