I don’t know why they’re concerned over Marcus. He hurt our Omega. He is shunned. He is not forgiven. He is not welcome.

“Are you okay?” I check in with Clover. She is too busy staring as Mick hands the other Omega a glass of water to give me an answer.

Her eyes are glued on them, narrowed in a way that I haven’t seen her look before. I’m not sure if she is trying to get a read on the situation or if she is jealous of what is going on. Either way it’s starting to change her scent from that sweet scent to something almost like rotten fruit.

She makes a sound and her eyes lift to meet mine as if she notices that it’s changing..

“Let’s get you some food. I’ll make you a cup of coffee and take care of you, baby weed.” She follows me, staying close on my heels. I notice her sparing a glance as Vaughn joins the other two with Marcus.

Clover’s face is all stormy, as I sit her on one of the stools, and start making her a coffee.

Sliding over a cup, filled with just the right amount of cream, I get her to smile. I also grab a croissant from the counter for her to eat so that she’s not just drinking the liquid on an empty stomach.

“Mhh, thank you.”

She nibbles it as I sip my coffee across from her. I just like this quiet moment with my Omega. I’m enjoying taking her in as she quietly eats as I try to figure out what to do..

I want to ask her if she is okay, but I don’t want to push her too much when she seems so deep in thought. I think she’s a little upset that everyone is around Marcus and left her here. Maybe our little Omega is even jealous of the attention he’s getting from them.

“Can I come to the gym with you?” I blink, shocked by her question. I was going to just work out at home today in the small gym we have here. I felt like we should stick close to Clover after last night, “If not it’s fine. I just want some space from everything happening here. I thought, maybe we can go to the gym together? Just you and me. No one else.” She rushes the last bit and I know she’s mad at the others.

She’s too kind to come out and say that they hurt her feelings. But I know that by rushing to Marcus and not checking in on her the others hurt her. I do get it. I also get why they were concerned about him. He was looking rougher than anyone should and they were worried that we were going to have to deal with everything since he was at our doorstep.

As if on cue, Apollo walks in. He has his cellphone pressed to his ear. He comes closer so we can hear him talking, obviously asking his parents to come over to help deal with the situation. Bending down he goes to kiss Clover on the cheek, but she slides off the stool before it lands.

His eyes widen in concern as she walks out of the space, not looking back at us.

She ispissed.

Apollo ends his conversation, his hand going to his hair to push it out of his face. His eyes look from where our Omega was and then to me.

“What’s wrong with Clover? Is she okay after last night?” He seems concerned now. I know that it’s all an oversight because of the male Omega in our living room. He wants to please everyone. He’s like a golden retriever.

For once, I actually am the good one in the pack.

I’m the Alpha of the month. Put my picture on the wall and give me a gold star.

“Clover trusted Marcus and he hurt her deeply. I don’t think she appreciates him showing up here the morning after she gave the pack her virginity and having everyone fawn all over him. I know he’s hurt and scared. I’m not saying letting him here is the wrong thing to do. Especially since he was so jacked up. I just think our little Omega is feeling vulnerable with his presence and from not being the one getting attention from everyone.” I explain to Apollo.

He winces and nods his head. He’s switching to thinking about how he can fix this all and make everyone happy again.

I shake my head.

“She asked to go to the gym with me. I’m going to take her. I figure you can just text me when things calm down a bit and I’ll bring her back. It might be good to give her an outlet and a place away from the house.” The other Alpha nods in agreement.

“He’s just so upset. We’re obviously not interested in him like that. Something happened and we have to figure out what it is.” He feels the need to explain himself even though I already understand why he did it.

I shrug, cleaning up the cups and walking around the breakfast island. I need to get dressed for the gym and the date with my little weed.

Clover laughs as we get ready to leave the gym. Her cheeks are flushed from the workout from hell we just went through. None of that sadness from this morning is on her face now though and it feels like a huge win.

We had gotten to the gym and I figured we could do some cardio or weight lifting together. That plan was spoiled when a class was starting and Clover got interested in it.

It was a barre class.

She had just seemed so excited at the idea. The way she was stealing looks inside at the others who were starting to stretch to get ready. She had done that thing she does when she gets excited, bouncing on her toes. She had tried to play it off as nervous energy, but it worked too well on me.

I had signed us up for the last two spots in the class despite having a very limited idea of what I was getting myself into.
