Kupid shrugged the shoulder that she wasn’t laying on. I wasn’t taking that for a damn answer, but I wasn’t gon’ push her right now to tell me until she finished getting all that crying out of her system.
“Ima let you cry, Kupid, but on me, this cryin’ ova a nigga that hurt you gon’ stop tonight. This gon’ be the last time, love.”
I held Kupid until the sobs were replaced by light snores.
The next morning, I had a long day ahead of me because the tour was starting, and we were in Heartville tonight at Heartville Coliseum. Something about sleeping near Kupid had me in a deep slumber and me waking up late. I woke up to Kupid shaking me.
“Crown, wake up. Nisha is texting me, asking if you are with me. She said your barber is looking for you.”
“Fuck,” I uttered. Stretching, I popped one eye open. Kupid was now in a lavender sweatsuit, the top being cropped. I rose and smiled at Kupid’s beautiful ass. “Pack some shit up. You goin’ on tour wit’ me.” I got out of bed. “I’ll have some clothes sent to you for the show tonight.”
“I don’t have a say in anything, do I?” When I looked at her she was grinning with her arms across her chest.
“You do, but not today.” I winked and picked my phone up to text Nisha as I strolled to Kupid’s bathroom. “You got an extra toothbrush?” I called out over my shoulder.
“In the left drawer, I should have a brand new pack!” Kupid yelled back.
After handling my business in the bathroom, I found Kupid fixing her bed. Walking up to her as she leaned over, I pressed my crotch against her ass. Kupid stood and pushed me back with an elbow.
“You heard what I said last night, Kupid. Make that yo’ last time cryin’ ‘bout that lil’ situation. You wit’ a big dawg now, fuck that lil puppy,” I told her, rubbing on her ass.
“How are you going to tell me that I’m in a relationship with you, Crown,” she rebutted.
“So you sayin’ you don’t want to be?” I queried.
“I didn’t say that…” she started, turning around. I halted her words with a deep kiss. If I weren’t pressed for time, I’d go some rounds with Kupid.
“Exactly. Let it be.” I finally stepped back and removed my hands from Kupid. “You should have an itinerary sent to you for today. I’ll see you at the show tonight.”
“An itinerary?” she questioned, frowning up.
“Yeah, my lady gotta look at fly as me. Plus, yo’ head all over the place.” I chuckled as Kupid touched her hair and then flicked me off.
“Oh baby, trust…I can’t wait.”
Kupid shook her head with a smile on her face. That’s exactly how I wanted her to stay—with a smile on her face.
kupid love
. . .
“Thaaaaank you, friend!”
“Yeah, appreciate that, Kupid.”
I’d gotten Asia and Shamar backstage passes for the show tonight, magically because the show was completely sold out. That was my way of thanking them for everything they’d done for me. I texted Crown, and he made it happen.Anything for you, he had said. As Crown mentioned, clothes were sent to me to choose from, and he surprised me with a hairdresser and MUA.
I was so embarrassed about last night. Crying out of nowhere, but like Crown said, that would be my last time. I honestly wasn’t sure what the main reason for the tears was. It could have been because I was still hurt from being with someone for years…someone that I loved…only to find out they were cheating on me or the fact that this man wanted to love on me even in my broken state. In his arm, as I laid, I’ve never felt the safest, and that scared me because what if I gave Crown a chance, and we go years, and then he cheats or something? That would make a person end up onFirst 48orSnap.
Now, with a sew-in and a cute little makeup beat, I was getting dressed. My bags were packed for the tour. I made up my mind to just wing it. I couldn’t let Shawn get in the way of someone willing to love me correctly. What if Crown was the man for me, and I missed out on my blessing, thinking every man was Shawn? Putting my heart in someone else’s hands was scary, but I couldn’t lie and say I wasn’t enjoying Crown's attention. After a while, his charm just grew on me.
“Hey, Nisha,” I said when I answered my ringing phone. I still hadn’t dug in her ass about that move she made when she booked the reservations for the Bahamas.
“Hey, sis,” she giggled animatedly.
“Not sis,” I mumbled under my breath. Nisha heard it and laughed even louder.
“No, for real. I like you. If I could choose someone for Crown, it would be you. Like, I saw him, and he looks like he finally got some rest,” Nisha said earnestly. “Trae was so against it, but who cares what Trae thinks, right? But today, Trae was like we gotta keep her around.” Nisha snickered.
