“Why are you all looking at me?” I ask.
“How’d the date go?” Dima asks, and I quickly remember Ty all tied up and blissed out.
“Perfect.”
“Perfect as in he will be at work here tomorrow?” Lev asks.
“Yes, You really should have more faith in me, but I have other news which is more important. When I left Tyler’s, a guy was following me, and it's the same guy who was here taking pictures,” I look over to Jules, who has his arm around Kai’s shoulders.
“It’s Timmy,” I say, and it takes a few seconds for it to register with Kai before Jules’ face contorts into a murderous glare.
“Tim? What the fuck does he want?” Jules shouts as Kai rubs his arm, looking surprisingly unbothered by this.
“He wants to get proof to take us all down and send us to prison. It was quite cute how angry he was.”
“I knew we should’ve made the fucker disappear,” Lev says.
“What did you say to him?” Dima asks.
“Just warned him he’ll be dead before anything could happen, but I think the guy has been watching too many hero cop shows. I’m pretty sure he’s gonna continue.”
“I’ll visit the bastard myself,” Jules says before Dima puts his hand up to stop him.
“No you won’t. We’ll deal with this properly like any other situation.”
I look over at Kai who is, as usual, covered in love bites. His eyes remain on the ground, and while he’s not the most talkative guy, he’s quieter than usual.
“Kai, why are you so quiet? Do you know something?” I ask, and Jules spins so fast to look at him he nearly loses his balance.
Kai looks at me and I can tell instantly he’s been hiding something. This will not end well.
“I thought I saw him last week, and he’s been messaging, asking to meet.”
“He what!” Jules booms.
“This is why I didn’t say anything. I ignored him. I just didn’t want you angry and doing something stupid, Jules.”
“Angry? Oh I’m beyond fucking angry, Kai. We’re gonna talk.”
“There's nothing to talk about, he just wants to make things go back to normal with my mom,” Kai says, which really is not the reason.
“No, he most likely wants to manipulate you or blackmail you for intel, Kai,” Dima says as Jules grabs Kai by the arm.
“We’re getting out of here,” Jules says as he drags Kai out of the kitchen, heading down the garden path to their home.
“What do you wanna do?” Lev asks Dima.
“Let's see what his next move is. Now that we know it's him, we can keep a better eye out. We have to be careful though, he’s still a cop.”
“Cops can have accidents,” I say, excited at the thought of tearing Timmy apart. He emanates the vibe of a screamer and bleeder.
“Ivan, calm down. This isn’t a game. We have to be smart about this,” Dima warns, but I look at Lev who has the same craving shining in his eyes that I have. Violence.
“You should include Aaron in this one, Lev. It will do him good,” I say.
“I don’t need advice on Aaron, Ivan.”
“Lev, the guy needs an outlet. His breakdowns are getting more frequent. Trust me, it will help him, plus imagine the rewards of the sex after?” I say.
