“No.”

Now this face I can read, his clenched jaw, the deep scowl on his forehead. I know he wants to hit me right now, and it's such a fucking rush. I love seeing him wound up like this, fiery. So different from the composed professional he shows in his daily life.

“I want a kiss before I go.”

“You’re deluded,” he says as I stalk toward him and back him up against the door. I grip his wrists to the side of his body. I know he’s strong enough to try and push me away, to try and fight me off, but he doesn’t. I take the kiss without further question and he tries to bite my lip.

“That shit only turns me on, Ty,” I say against his lip before thrusting my tongue into his mouth. My eyes roll into the back of my head at the contact with his tongue. Long, languid strokes filled with desire and fire. The kiss deepens, and Ty completely hands himself over to me. His whimpers make my cock sing. I’ve been hard since I got here and I can’t wait to relieve myself when I get home. I pull away and leer at his dazed face. Not a look of a man who hated what I’ve done to him.

“I’ll see you tomorrow.” I move away from him and he moves from the door so I can leave and collect my jacket from the living room. He timidly walks behind me, and just as I’m about to leave, he stops me.

“Please don’t tell anyone what happened, Ivan. I could lose my job.”

“Your boss won’t fire you, Ty.”

“You don’t know him so how would you know that?”

“Because I’ll kill him if he does,” I say as I turn, and leave Tyler open mouthed by my confession.

I get outside into the freezing cold, that I’ve still not acclimatized to yet, and walk to my car. The thing about my work is, over the years you learn how to protect yourself, watch your back. That's why I know without even looking behind me that someone is following me. I saw the shadow just outside Tyler's apartment complex, but I’m acting like I don’t know he’s there. I look to the side as I pass all the shops and businesses and see in the reflection of the glass a figure behind me, only a few feet away, walking in time with my steps. What a fucking idiot, this guy has obviously never stalked anyone before or been trained to. I slow my steps as we get closer to my car, and decide to see who this asshole is. I suddenly stop and whirl around fast to face whoever this guy is, he is paying so little attention to the action that he nearly bumps into me. I grab him by the collar of his coat and slam him into the nearest wall. Wide eyes greet me and I grin at the guy as I slowly start to recognize him.

“Timmy, Timmy, Timmy. Now why oh why are you following me so far from home?”

Tim is Kai’s mother’s “friend”, who tried to take Dima and Lev on when we went over to help Kai get away from the gang. And his mother. This fucker is a cop, and for some reason is obsessed with us. It's cute and amusing that he thinks he can take us down. He knows what powers we have and how the police here are in our pocket. What he’s trying to achieve, I don’t know. But it’ll be fun to find out.

“Get your hands off me. This is assault, I can arrest you for this.”

I let go of him and step back.

“It's an offence to stalk someone. I guess it was you outside our house taking pictures the other day?”

“You all think you're so clever. Like you’re some powerhouse that can’t be touched. Nobody is above the law,” he sneers, and I chuckle.

“If you think that, then you’re more naive than I thought and probably not a very good cop. Actually, I know you're not a very good cop. Do you have any idea how to work undercover? Kai could’ve done a better job.”

“You’ve corrupted that poor kid.”

“No, we’ve liberated him from his controlling mother and weirdass boyfriend.”

“I’m her friend.”

“And I don’t give a fuck,” I say as I move closer to him and place my mouth against his ear.

“As much as this amuses me, don’t mistake it for compliance, Timmy. I see you again, and it won’t be pretty.”

“Are you threatening me?”

“Ah so you do have a brain? It's not a threat. Stay away from our business, Timmy.”

“It’s Tim.”

“No, Tim suits a man. You’re a little boy, Timmy, who will never know how to play with the big guys.”

“I will get you all. You’ll spend the rest of your lives inside. I promise.”

“And I promise you’ll be burnt to ash before that happens. That's after you’ve screamed your last breath in pain. Now fuck off back home,” I say before turning and walking to my car. I can’t believe this asshole is stalking around here. Jules will be so pleased when he finds out.

When I arrive back home, Jules, Lev, Dima and Kai are in the kitchen chatting, before going quiet when I walk in.
