I groaned and cracked one eye open. “Can’t we just order room service and stay like this all day?”
Mackenzie snuggled into my neck. “Nope. You have a big day.” Her voice was almost hoarse. “Tell me about Sharon’s pack again?”
“They’re perfect. On paper. A male and female alpha, three betas. They have a brownstone with a rooftop garden.” I hissed in a breath and wrapped my hand around Mackenzie’s to slow down her pace. “But in the Pack Planning workshop, Sharon went on this whole thing about wanting five kids in the next five years. It wasn’t quite clear who she wanted to be pregnant that whole time. Probably not her.”
“And the Hendersons?” she moaned and licked my neck. “They seemed nice.”
“Hmm,” I pinched her nipples just enough. “Have you seen their PackSpace? They coordinate outfits. Like matching outfits. Every. Single. Day.”
“No.” She sounded horrified.
“Yes.”
“What about that pack from the bar last night?”
“The one with the three alphas?” I shuddered as she stroked faster. “Their auras were so aggressive it made my tummy hurt.”
She swung her leg over my hip. I guided the tip of my cock into her. She sank back slowly and rocked. Slow enough to feel everything. I threaded my hands into her hair and brought our foreheads together. Profound relief flooded us both, pushing the ever constant, ever present need just beyond our awareness.
Just as a pathetic whine for more flowed to my lips, she said, “Ren says hi.” The whine turned into a growl. I flipped her onto her back and hooked a knee over my elbow. She spread her legs wide, planted her foot to thrust up, meeting me.
“Justice rock climbs,” I panted, a pounding stroke punctuation each word. “Long. Strong. Fingers. Deep. Inside. Us.”
A scream tore from her. She came, pushing all that energy right into me, only to have it ricochet back. I did whimper then, all I had strength for. I sank into her. We both needed the grounding weight. We moved as little as our heaving breaths would allow. Any friction would be torture now. I nuzzled into her neck as our breaths slowed.
“Ready?” I asked.
She said “no” with a little shake of her head. No words could fully describe the moment of disconnection when you pulled yourself from someone. It was worse during heat when the knot let you go. The world stopped making sense. Everything was just empty.
She took a deep breath and nodded against my cheek. I pulled out of her and flopped to my back, both of us groaning and panting with the effort. She found my hand and laced our fingers together as we waited to be normal and incomplete, yet functioning members of society again.
“Whew.” Mackenzie groaned as she sat up, pulling me with her. “Shower then breakfast.”
She piled her hair high on her head as I cranked the hot water up.
