“You can have mine, just get back here!” Sebastian shouts. I hear his engine rev, then Luke’s as he starts the other.

The dinging of the crossing lights shuts off as the train clears our path out of here.

I make eye contact with Sebastian as I grab hold of the helmet that’s still attached to its rider, lifting it up and giving it a little shake until his head slides free.

His skull cracks when it hits the pavement.

I put the helmet on, then grab the grips of the fallen bike, stepping on the peg with all my weight until it’s up under me.

“Leena!” Sebastian shouts.

I hear the radio click on in my comm piece, Luke’s voice rings in my ear. “Leena, this isn’t a ride around the block. We’re going to have to move fast to get out of here,” he warns.

I smile, using my heel to flip out the lever, then kick-start the bike in one heavy stomp. I rev the engine, and brace myself as I throw it into first. “Try and keep up, boys.”

“Goddammit!” I hear Sebastian growl out as I take off over the tracks and down the road.

CHAPTER FIFTY-THREE

LUKE

If Sebastian doesn’t kill her, I will.

Because I was not fucking prepared for this particular variety of heart attack today.

I guess we should’ve asked her if she rode at some point, but it never came up.

A lot of things haven’t come up, apparently.

I suppose I’m the idiot for assuming she didn’t, because holy fuck, our woman can ride. But that doesn’t mean I want her to. I don’t want any of us to. Out of all the vehicles we could have found ourselves in, these are the least ideal when the people chasing you have weapons.

I follow close behind Leena, shaking my head at this turn of events. The dual-sports are not large bikes, at least not for me and Sebastian, but Leena looks tiny on hers. She can’t even reach the ground for fuck’s sake. But that didn’t stop her from tipping it at an angle and kick starting it in one fucking go then getting up to speed nearly as fast as I would have.

I glance over at Sebastian riding beside me and he shakes his head.

I can hear his grumbling from here, and the radios aren’t even on.

“Alright, sweetheart. You’ve proven your point, you get your own ride. But it’s our rules from this point forward. Understand?” Sebastian demands.

“Yes,sir,” she snarks.

“Leena,” he lectures.

“I understand. I don’t know the roads like you do,” she confirms, which is a relief.

“Alright. Chase, you lead, I’m behind,” I say.

“Copy that,” he confirms, speeding up to move in front of Leena as I fall in line behind her just before we hit the next curve.

And this is the moment Colton decides to join our little conversation. “What the fuck is happening? Are you on amotorcycleright now?”

“Three, motorcycles, actually,” Leena chimes in. And I wish she hadn’t, because the stream of expletives that are pouring into my ears from Colton’s mouth at the moment are a little much.

Accurate, sure, but it’s not fucking helping.

“What the fuck happened to the vehicles?! You hadtwo!”he shouts.

“Vehicles are down, Fisher. But I do love how much you care about me,” Sebastian says. I hear Colton grumble.
