Page 88 of Uncaged Obsessions

After I see her, I’m ready to go, turning back to my opponent and the fight begins. He tries to get ahead of me, I play with hima bit, taunting him as we fight. I even let him think he has the upper hand for a moment.

By the way Adam is yelling at me, he knows exactly what I’m doing. It doesn’t take long before I manage to get the guy in a solid guard he can’t get out of. But I don’t want it over yet, so I let him think he’s the reason I let go.

We continue and I’m having fun, which isn’t always the case. Usually I just want to win, but today I’m enjoying the fight. It’s like my own little game I’m playing. At some point it needs to end, so I stop playing around and actually fight. He clearly doesn’t see it coming, and I win in a knockout.

My eyes stay locked on Max’s as I’m announced as the winner and the way she’s screaming and cheering for me has me even more excited to get my hands on her. I know she’ll let me do whatever I want. I’ll make sure to make it worth it.

I’m so focused on my win and Max by the time we leave that I don’t even think to ask Adam about what he didn’t want to tell me earlier. Since it hasn’t come up again, I assume it doesn’t matter.

Plus, once we’re leaving, I’m ready to get inside my girl and nothing else matters anyway. Everything else can wait. She’s safe, we’re all together, and I just won yet another fight. Life is pretty fucking good.

The next morning,I want to sleep in, but never can. My body should be exhausted after a fight and want to recover, but it’slike it rejuvenates me and I always wake up early the next day ready for more.

The last thing I want to do is untangle myself from Max, but she needs sleep. I may be a selfish bastard, but my girl needs to rest so she can handle more. Because I sure as shit plan on giving it to her.

I notice Adam isn’t in bed on the other side of Drew as he usually is and I remember what happened before the fight. I really consider staying in bed, but if I’m going to figure out what that was about I can’t have her awake distracting me.

I get out of bed and when I get to the living room I find Adam on the couch with his laptop on his lap. He looks over at me as I walk out and gives me a small nod.

“’Sup?” I ask.

“Couldn’t sleep, usual shit.”

I grunt in response, not sure what to say to that. “So, what was up yesterday before my fight?”

He sighs, closing his laptop and running his hand down his face. “I didn’t want to say anything, but I feel like we should wait until Max and Drew are up too.”

“Fuck that, we can tell them later, what the fuck is it?”

“Apparently, your dad has been dropped from the case and has been put on some sort of leave while he’s being investigated.”

I can’t help the smile that starts to spread across my face, knowing my dad is getting fucked over in some way, and I don’tthink Danner had anything to do with it. No, this is all him being a piece of shit.

“What’s he being investigated for?” I ask, unable to hide how happy I sound.

“That took a bit of digging to find out, but from what I could see, something about bribing judges.”

I burst out laughing, and it’s probably the hardest that I’ve ever laughed before. I probably shouldn’t, but the fact that fucker is getting what he deserves while my life only gets better is the best type of revenge.

CHAPTER 47

MAX

Danner and I had an extremely fun time at Caine’s fight. She never left my side, despite Cal and Alexander trying to get her attention multiple times. She pretended like they didn’t exist. Regardless, it was fun and felt surprisingly normal. Like we were just two friends watching an MMA fight.

Everything else faded into the background for a while and we just…enjoyed. Of course, I had even more fun later when my entire body was worshipped by my guys, but that’s nothing unusual.

Though, I wake up and only have Drew next to me, which isn’t entirely unusual. Caine usually wakes up early and doesn’t always stay in bed. I look past Drew to see that Adam isn’t in bed either, and wonder where they both could be.

I’m a little surprised to find them both in the living room, Adam is sitting on the couch with his closed laptop next to him, and Caine is standing with his large arms folded across his chest looking weirdly giddy.

“What’s going on?” I ask, looking between them.

“Turns out my dad has been bribing judges, which explains why he’s won some of the cases he has,” Caine tells me.

“Wait, what?” I shake my head, this was not the kind of news I was expecting this early and I don’t know how to process any of it. “What does that mean?”

“He’s suspended, so he won’t be representing your parents,” he explains. “Hopefully getting his ass handed to him so every shitty thing he’s done can catch up to him.”
