“Coach is always serious, time to go,” Drew insists, standing between us, probably in case she tries to come after me again, even though I would love it if she would.
She storms out with another one of her signature screams and I feel the headache forming already.
“Alright, who’s up next,” Adam calls out to the class like nothing has happened.
As I leave the cage, I catch Caine still watching me, as always. He nods in my direction, but I don’t miss the way he adjusts himself in his pants because of fucking course that turned him on.
And of course, it makes me want to go over there to help him take care of that little situation he now has. Because I’m addicted to these men just as much as they are to me. Their obsession with me has turned into my obsession with them as well, and I plan to show them just how bad it is later.
“Hold on,I need you to repeat that last part, she said what?” Danner asks, laughing so hard I think she’s going to fall off the stool she’s sitting on at the bar.
“She thinks I’m fucking all the guys at Uncaged, and was pissed about it. I don’t know why you’re laughing so hard, it’s notthatfunny.”
“Oh, it’s pretty funny. That bitch has had it coming for so long. I’m just mad I wasn’t there to see it happen.” She shakes her head.
“My bad, I’ll make sure to record it next time.”
“Could you? Clearly I need to have eyes in that gym all the time for my own personal entertainment.”
“Yeah? So you can watch Cal and Alexander as they train?” I raise an eyebrow at her, knowing mentioning them will get her off my back.
The way her eyes narrow proves I’m right and I laugh, turning around to put the glasses I just dried away.
“You’re a buzzkill you know that,” she says seriously after I turn back toward her.
I shrug. “I’m just calling it like I see it.”
“What is it you see?” She folds her hands under her chin.
“They’re always trying to talk to you when they come here,” I explain.
“And what do you see thatIdo?”
“Not give them the time of day.”
She points a finger gun at me and clicks her tongue. “There ya go.”
I roll my eyes at her denial. I know it’s just a matter of time. I don’t think those two are as…intense as my guys. But they seem persistent and I’m sure there will come a time they manage to wear her down.
“Anyway, I saw the news about your parents, that sucks.” Her tone is very obvious about how it does, in fact, not suck and we both know it.
“Yeah, it’s wild they would do that to Carson.” I shake my head like I can’t believe it, though I’m holding back a laugh.
“Sounds like they have a pretty solid case against them, too. Even with Caine’s fancy pants dad as their lawyer,” she explains and I know it’s the safe way for us to talk about this in public.
I nod, unsure of what else to say that isn’t completely obvious because I’m not great at our code word game we’re playing. I change the subject to safer territory. “By the way, we’re all going to Caine’s next fight in Portland this weekend if you want to join.”
“Who’sall?”
“The guys…me…your guys,” I tell her suggestively and she groans.
“Would you let it go? I don’t have guys.”
“So you coming?” I don’t acknowledge her denial.
She’s quiet, twisting her drink around. “I’ll think about it. But you need to let it go.”
I smile widely. “Don’t count on it.”
