Pulling myself together for my men, I dragged Zethan in next for a kiss and cuddle. “Did you keep Mr. Vincent in line and make him behave?”
“Always.” Zethan grinned against my mouth, parting my lips with his warm, eager tongue, that sent desire for more spinning through me.
Alaric positioned himself behind me. “There’s always room for more trouble.” I loved it when he got cheeky. When he lost the darkness in his soul.
His kisses behind my ear and down my neck sent me into a freefall.
“Quit kissing at the dinner table,” Slade joked as he carted in the second lasagna plate behind Castor, setting it down and taking off his red oven mitts. Totally for show to teach Mia not to carry hot items. Heat and fire didn’t burn him like it did others. God of War gifts and all that.
“Yeah!” Mia backed him up. “Boy germs are gross, Mom. They spoil your dinner.”
We all laughed and shared another dizzying kiss before separating, my men taking their seats at the table.
“You know what stops kissing?” Slade goaded Mia again as he sliced through the layered pasta meal.
“What?” Mia dropped the three garlic bread loaves from the tea towel in her hands onto the plate she and Castor arranged earlier.
“Garlic breath.” Slade snatched a loaf to trick her, peeling back the aluminum foil, taking a piece and biting into it. “Come gimme a kiss.”
“Ewwww!” Mia wailed and went to sit next to Castor instead.
I snort-laughed and set my hands on Slade’s shoulders and massaged them, needing to feel his fire and strength beneath his cut. “You boys want to freshen up before dinner is served?”
Slade exaggerated his groan to Mia. “She’s so bossy.” He grabbed her before she got into her seat and tickled her. “Just like you.” He gave her another few bristled kisses that made her shoulders rise to brush them off.
“No more kisses,” she protested, wriggling in his arms but secretly enjoying the attention.
Slade let her go and backed away, pointing gun fingers at her. “Oh, there’s plenty more where that came from. And all for you.” He blew air kisses at her.
“Ewwww!” Mia swatted away the kisses and plopped beside Castor.
He rubbed her head and chuckled.
Zethan and Alaric excused themselves from the table to take quick showers and change.
Castor wagged his eyebrows at Mia as they left. “They’re gone. You know what that means?”
Mia grinned and broke off two slices of garlic bread. “More for us. Hurry up and eat it all before Slade gets it!”
CHAPTER35
Aaliyah
“Ouch.”Mia rubbed at her swollen belly, suffering for trying to match Slade piece for piece of garlic bread.
Slade frowned at her, all serious for once. “Regretting eating so much?”
“Yes,” she whimpered. “You really are a superhero.”
Slade’s eyes at me communicated his request to alleviate his daughter’s discomfort. I hit her with a dose of magick to speed up her digestion, the swollen bread and pasta churning with her gastric juices, forming a thick, soupy liquid. The chyme cleared from her stomach quicker, and eased the pressure and pain in her torso, entering the next phase of breakdown.
Slade shot me a thankful expression for fixing the problem for her.
This might be our second to last night together as a family, and I wasn’t letting Mia waste precious biker daddy time with her complaints and irritation.
Relieved and freer to move, Mia perked up, jumped off the sofa and grabbed a Nintendo Wii game from off a shelf.
She brought it back and waved it in front of Slade. “Wanna play Just Dance?”
