“What? But I can’t go. I really can’t.”

He shrugged. “I’m not worried. We’ll change your mind. Come here, you.” He took her hand, dragging her toward him and into his arms, hugging her close.

He smelled too damn good.

Her body went liquid with need as he held her a few moments longer than necessary—or maybe that was her overheated imagination. That, and the fact that she could feel the heat of his body through the thin silk of her robe.

Paul released her and stepped back. “So, Jessie, meet Noah.”

Noah got to his feet, smiling. He had a killer smile. Several inches shorter than Paul, Noah’s body was more heavily muscled, more tightly packed. Absolutely gorgeous build to go with his stunning face. He had amazing hazel eyes, gold and green and silver all at the same time. When he took her hand, a shiver went through her.

“Jessie, hi.” His smile widened, the warmth there reaching his eyes. “Paul’s told me all about you.”

“Not everything.” Paul winked, smiled.

“True. You said she was pretty, but ‘pretty’ doesn’t do this woman justice.”

Jessie smiled back, a little shaky and acutely aware of being naked beneath her robe, and of the two male gazes on her. She didn’t know if Noah was gay or bi—she’d never thought to ask—but something in his gleaming eyes spoke of desire, loud and clear. She was feeling it, too—that hot spark, that exquisite need.

She looked from Noah to Paul.

Need to come again. And again and again. With Paul. With Noah. With them both.

Chapter Two

Somehow, an hour later she was in Paul’s black Jeep Cherokee, roaring up highway 80 on the way to Lake Tahoe. Music blared from the speakers, the windows were down to let the fresh summer air in, and she had to admit she was more relaxed than she’d been in months.

“So,” Noah said, “tell me how you two met.”

“I picked her up in a sex ed class,” Paul said, winking at her over his shoulder.

Her long hair was whipping her face in the wind, and she pushed it behind her ears.

“Ha! Hardly. I was his English tutor.”

“Yeah, but my version is so much sexier.”

Why did he have to say something like that? When had things between them ever been sexy, other than in her vivid imagination?

“You’ve known each other a long time, then,” Noah said.

“We’ve been friends for ten years.” Paul turned again, flashing her a quick smile, and her insides melted, as always.

“Really? Just friends? Nothing more has ever happened between you two? Because I can feel the chemistry from over here.”

Jessie was glad she was wearing her biggest sunglasses so he couldn’t see the flush on her cheeks.

“No, nothing,” Paul was quick to answer, then he was silent for several moments before adding, “There was some kissing one drunken night, but that’s it.”

“It was a long time ago,” Jessie said, a flash of heat shivering over her skin as she remembered the touch of his lips on hers.

Noah looked from Jessie to Paul. “Sorry. Not my business—I shouldn’t have asked.”

“It’s okay,” Jessie told him. “It’s a reasonable enough question, I guess.” One she’d never been able to answer. “What about you two? I think Paul mentioned you met when he went to Quebec to pick up that T-bird, right?”

Noah nodded and smiled, a brilliant flash of strong white teeth.

Beautiful smile. Beautiful man.
