I made eye contact with him and frowned, then he frowned in return.
“I’m going to remove your gag so we can talk.”
He stood and came over to me on the bed, then untied the gag and pulled it out of my mouth. I wiggled my jaw and licked my lips. “Who the fuck are you?”
He chuckled. “Everything I told you is true. My name is Jameson. I’m a biker with the Forsaken MC.”
“Where’s Elise?” I asked, more worried about my best friend than myself.
A smirk curved his lips. “Who’s Elise?”
How could someone be so hot yet so irritating at the same time? “Olivia, asshole. Obviously you know that if you know my name is Lucia.”
He sat back down in the chair. “She’s safe.”
That didn’t make me feel better at all. “If you hurt her, I swear to God, I will kill you.”
He chuckled. “I like this side of you; so feisty. Although I do prefer the naked and moaning version better.”
I was pissed off and turned on at the same time. “Fuck you.”
His smirk fell a little, and a humorless chuckle escaped him. “I’d like that, but I don’t think you’ll let me touch you again.”
“Damn right, I won’t. You kidnapped me.”
He looked down at the floor between his legs but didn’t respond.
The anger and adrenaline started to recede, being replaced by fear and hopelessness. “Are you going to kill me?”
His head whipped up, his brow furrowing. “What? No.”
I could feel the sting of tears, but I fought them, not wanting Jameson to see me cry. “Then why? Did my dad pay you to find me?”
He shook his head. “It’s complicated.”
“Well, I obviously can’t go anywhere thanks to you, so please enlighten me.”
He sighed. “Remember when I told you about my sister?”
I wasn’t sure I believed anything he was saying, but it was the only information I had to go on. “Yes.”
“Well, before she got her happily ever after, she was in an abusive relationship with a cartel lord.”
I stiffened but didn’t say anything.
Jameson leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees. “His name was Matteo Alvarez. He nearly beat her to death several times before she got away.”
My chest tightened, empathy making my heart hurt. “When she came home, he sent people after her. And they took her to his home in Mexico.”
My heart started to race as pieces of the puzzle put themselves together in my mind.
“So we went to get her back with the help of another MC.” He slowly brought his eyes to mine. “And we killed everyone there.”
My eyes widened. His club was responsible for my uncle’s death; for my father having to take his place.
Jameson leaned back in the chair, crossing his arms over his chest. “And now your father keeps sending his people after us in search of revenge. His men left us with a threat that he wouldn’t stop until all the Forsaken and Suicide Kings are dead.”
A lump formed in my throat as the final piece clicked into place.
