“God, they’re so fucking hot,” Liv groaned. “I’d let both at the same time fuck me.”

“Olivia Dorothea!” Eden cried out.

“Sorry,” Liv said. “I didn’t say that. You didn’t hear that.”

“Eden, seriously though,” Sophia said in a soft voice.

Eden walked by her friends, plopped down on the couch and reached for her glass of wine. She stared forward, took a deep breath, and spilled the story. Not the entire story. Not the gritty details. But enough that both Liv and Sophia’s jaws were dropped.

Liv actually stole Eden’s wineglass and took a sip. She handed it to Sophia, who downed the rest of the wine.

“You spent the night at their clubhouse,” Liv said. “And you lived to tell the story. Wait. Did you sleep with him?”

“No,” Eden said with confidence. “Not even close.”

“So this is about Cody,” Sophia said. “And that’s the price for this protection?”

“Her ass,” Liv said.

“No,” Eden said.

“You’re in big trouble, Eden,” Sophia said. “This is serious stuff. These guys are for real, aren’t they? This isn’t some show.”

“I have no fucking choice!” Eden yelled at Sophia.

Sophia swallowed hard. She looked ready to cry. Everyone fell silent. Seconds ticked by.

“Can I just let one of them fuck me?” Liv asked, breaking the tension.

“NO!” both Eden and Sophia yelled.

“I’m sorry for yelling,” Eden said. “But this is my business right now. This is something I have to handle. I’m terrified of what Cody will do next. I don’t want to live like this. This isn’tsome fantasy for me. This is real. Being at that clubhouse was scary. It was real. It was nothing like a show. Okay?”

Liv moved closer to Eden and reached for her hand. “Serious question. Is Priest going to kill Cody?”

“I’m not sure,” Eden said.

Sophia gasped, coughed, and ran to the kitchen to throw up the wine she chugged.

Yeah, Eden thought, it’s real and it’s fucking scary, isn’t it?

Chapter Eleven

Chatter

The car rolls to a stop and the dust it kicked up gently settles.

He sits with his phone in his right hand, squeezing it tight, not looking at it.

It’s a modern day stress ball. Holding the phone.

“Sir?”

The driver doesn’t look back. Doesn’t even look in the mirror.

Right ahead is nothing but land. Most of it an open field with tall grass. The grass is mostly dead too. A sign of much needed rain.

Rain to wash everything away…
