Hunter chuckles, coming over to me and ruffling my hair. “It’s okay to be happy, you grouchy ass.”

I smack his hand away with a scowl. “Talk to you later.”

Hunter leaves me to sit with my thoughts. My phone vibrates again, and grabbing it pathetically fast, I open it straight away. I’m not sure where he is, but Noah’s selfie with a cherry-blossom painting in the background makes me smile, the text making it widen more.

Noah: Yours are prettier

Fuck.

He does make me happy.

Twelve

Noah

It’s nearing midnight, and I haven’t heard Mark or Hunter in almost half an hour.

Mark had wanted to watch a movie—while I wanted to do literally anything else—so each time my phone vibrated I felt bad. But after a few texts Jamie had finally said good night. Hunter hadnotcome home from Jamie’s in a good mood either, and I know he knows we’ve been talking.

I’m sure they’re both asleep now.

Walking down the hall, I peek into their room and see darkness, and since neither of them say a thing, I assume they’re sleeping.

Creeping back out to the living room, I grab my phone, afraid to wake them.

Noah: U up?

I strip down to my boxers. They feel way too confining right now. Listening to Mark and Hunter fuck for the second week in a row has not only annoyed me... regretfully, it’s kind of turned me on.

Jamie: Yeah

I just want to hear Jamie’s deep voice right now, so I lay down and call him. It rings a few times, and I almost think he’s fallen asleep before he answers. “Noah?” The soft, rich tone of his voicemakes me smile.

“Hey.”

“I didn’t mean to keep messaging earlier, sorry.”

“It’s okay. I was busy.”

“What were you doing?” It’s quiet for a moment before Jamie says. “Sorry, it’s not my business.”

“Mark planned a movie night. Then I had to listen to them for about an hour before they went to sleep. Did not need that shit tonight!”

“Why?” Jamie laughs, and I have to smile back.

“Hearing Hunter fuck Mark every night turns me on and makes me feel gross. My dick is so confused.” Jamie laughs again. “It’s like, I know they’re sex noises, and that’s hot, but then I remember where they’re coming from and shrivel up in shame.”

“I’m so sorry.”

“I’m so horny. Homeless and horny. Dicked up and damned. Couched and cocked.”

Jamie laughs. “Well, why don’t you meet up with someone? You don’t have to stay in the house. You’re free to do whatever.”

Yeah, but... I don’t really want to. “I don’t feel like it.”

“But you’re broke and boned.”

“Nice.” I snort. “Finding someone random doesn’t appeal to me right now.”
