The wolf shifter was the second biggest guy in the room. Not many got as big as a dragon shifter. The man was built like a brute. If Henrik weren’t a dragon shifter, he’d be intimidated by the guy. Though, the man knew how to charm. He’d watched him smile and wink at a woman to get his way.
Warren grinned. “Rik, old man. I heard you were in the middle of this mess. You made quite the spectacle at the shipping yard.”
“Dragon?”
“No, they suspect domestic terrorism, but are confused as to why,” Warren replied. “I heard you saved a few females in the process, so well done.”
“Who else is with you?” Henrik asked glancing at the other four men in the kitchen crowding the space.
The man flanking Warren wore a playful smirk and dressed like he was a lumberjack. Warren twisted and clapped his hand onto the man’s shoulder. “This is our friend from the north, Sebastian.”
Henrik caught a whiff of his scent. “Pinecones and salmon,” he muttered.
Warren chuckled.
Sebastian shoved Warren off him. “Fuck off.”
Warren burst out laughing. “It’s not my fault bears smell like Canada wilderness.”
“I’m from Minnesota, asshole.”
Henrik shrugged. “Same difference.”
There were a few chuckles and Warren grinned.
Warren pointed at the two men standing closest to the back door. “This guy and his buddy are from the west coast. Enzo and Arthur.”
Henrik studied the two of them. They wore black leather, had dark features, with pointed ears and dark eyes. “Fae.”
Enzo, the one closest to Henrik, smiled. “Dragon,” he said smirking.
“Sorry, I’ve never met any of you before.”
“Well now the pleasure is all yours.” Enzo gave a small bow.
Arthur rolled his eyes. “Ignore my brother. We were informed you need some assistance. We’re here to offer some.”
Henrik nodded. “Thank you.”
Warren pointed to the last to be introduced. He leaned back against the kitchen counter with his arms crossed over his chest. The man looked like a Viking, long blond hair, blue eyes, and a scowl to match.
“That’s Nash.”
“Tiger?” Henrik asked.
Nash gave a stiff nod. “I owed Warren a favor. That’s the only reason why I’m here.”
Warren clapped his hand onto Henrik’s shoulder. “I’m really doing him the favor. But ignore Grumpy. He’ll do what needs to be done.”
“Go easy around the human women. We’ve got a houseful right now and they’re all dealing with different levels of trauma,” Henrik said.
Nash sniffed. “It smells more like vampire in here than anything.”
“They were being held by vampires for a while. Some of them had been held for over a month. We’re not releasing them to the police until we’re sure we’ve stopped Stefano. The last thing we need is Stefano going after them again. Or worse, just killing them to sew up loose ends.”
Warren’s expression darkened. “Syrena said she had a plan on how to take Stefano down.”
“Stefano cancelled the job tonight. We’ve been given time.” Henrik moved to lean in the doorway, with a quick glance at Quinn who was watching him.
