She didn’t argue anymore. She unbuckled her seat belt and let Levi pull her into his arms. The fact that he was naked didn’t even really matter. Henrik was naked and fighting a vampire. Her world was no longer what it used to be. Clothes didn’t seem all that important right now.

Just as they hurried toward the open door, she saw Tabitha disappear into a portal.

“This is going to be terrifying. There’s nothing I can do about that. Just trust me to catch you, all right?”

Quinn just nodded woodenly, knowing there was no other choice. He wrapped her up in his arms and leapt out of the jet. She squeezed her eyes shut when she felt his body leave hers. She knew she was hurtling toward the ground. She had to trust that Levi would be able to save her.

She didn’t dare open her eyes. The wind whipped around her. She was freezing, her body trembling, shaking. Any moment she was sure she was going to hit the pavement or maybe a tree below her. Still, she kept her eyes closed.

Then something wrapped around her and she stopped falling. Momentum jerked and she was moving in a different direction.

She dared to open her eyes and found that the earth wasn’t far below her. Levi had her in his claws.

Are you all right?

“As I can be. I don’t really know right now.”

That’s fair. I’m going to have to drop you and go after my brother.

“Yeah, I get it.”

I’ll drop you by the hangar, so you have protection.

“Thanks.”

She hadn’t even realized she was without a coat. She didn’t feel cold so much as she was shaken. He dropped her as gently as he could manage under the circumstances. She hit the pavement hard and watched as he shot back up into the sky. The plane was out of sight. She had no idea what was going on now.

She got to her feet and scanned the small airfield. There wasn’t anyone in sight.

Great. She’d been completely removed from anything. Would Levi or Henrik come back for her?

The roar of a familiar engine drew her attention. Henrik’s Mustang came speeding down the road. She couldn’t make out the driver until Warren pulled up right alongside her. He hopped out of the car and immediately lifted her into his arms.

“Holy fuck. You’re a sight for sore eyes.”

Quinn was a little dazed as he set her down. “What is happening right now?”

“We thought you were dead.”

“Dead?” Her eyes widened. “The woman. Erica. He called her Erica. The ring I had that was a glamour for me. Grey had Tabitha change the glamour. That woman…wasn’t me.”

“That’s good, because she was terrifying. I’m just glad you’re all right.”

“What was wrong with Henrik?”

Warren’s smile faded. “He was the one who had to put down the woman who looked just like you. To say he went crazy…”

“He looked primal. Like a caveman version of a dragon.”

Warren’s brows rose. “That sounds intense.”

“Incoming.” Enzo got out of the passenger side of the car. He was pointing at the sky.

They turned and looked up. Two dragons came hurtling toward the ground right at them. They hit the ground hard, cracking the cement beneath them.

Quinn cried out, “Henrik.”

For a moment, it was difficult to see which dragon was Henrik and which was his brother, Levi. The dragon on the bottom kicked the other off him. Then she saw the black eyes. There were more details she recognized as he came into view from the streetlights. Her dragon stormed toward Levi’s dragon form.
