She shook her head. “I couldn’t have lasted any longer, so don’t be sorry. That was . . . amazing.”
He rubbed her ass. “You’re mine now.”
She leaned up on her arms and frowned down at him. “You mean I wasn’t before?”
He grinned. “Mo Chridhe, you were mine from the moment I saw you and you know it.”
She grunted in approval. That was better.
Hours later,Sofia sat on his lap, bundled under a blanket as he Colm pushed them back and forth on the rocking chair.
The stars twinkled far above them as she sipped her hot chocolate with a sigh of pleasure.
“You’re happy?” he asked.
“So happy. We should come to this cabin as often as possible. It’s magical.”
“Luckily, I know the owner. So we can do that.”
“Really? Who is the owner?” she asked excitedly.
“We are.”
She turned to stare at him. “You bought it?”
“I did. For us.”
“That’s so awesome!” she cried, hugging him. “Unfortunately, we can’t live here, though.” There were too many people who would like to use her to get to Sacha, and her overprotective cousin wouldn’t allow it.
“No, most likely, we’ll have to stay on the estate or with Rogan if your cousin doesn’t throw a fit.” He ran his fingersthrough her hair. “But we can come here to get away from it all. Just you, me, and the stars.”
“Well, don’t forget the bed.”
He grinned. “I’ll never forget the bed.”
A giggle raced through her. Then she kissed him.
She’d never thought she could be this happy or that she could be this loved.
It was a dream come true. She’d just had to face a few nightmares to get here.
To him.
