I notice a hint of doubt in his expression. To verify my suspicions, he moves closer to me, and I catch a whiff of alcohol layered with a subtle aroma of tobacco emanating from his breath. In a low voice, he asks, “You want me to take you home?”

Yes and yes.

Feeling my nerves act up, I respond, “Yes, please.” with a soft smile.

I lean over toward Chloe, my mouth next to her ear, “Hey, Chlo. I’m not feeling too good, so Caden is gonna take me home. You gonna be alright?”

Her smile widens at my words. “I’ll be fine, I’m gonna head out soon anyway.”

Nodding at her, and leaving a kiss on her cheek, she whispers in my ear, “Go get that dick girl.”

Slapping her arm playfully, I smile at her and walk to the entrance, where Caden is waiting for me.

The level of nervousness and terror that I am currently experiencing cannot be overstated. My heart is racing, and my palms are sweaty as I try to muster up the courage to make a bold move.

“I’ll be right back.” I quickly say. As I walk past him, I can see him kneeling with his elbows resting on my kitchen counter, glancing around the place. I continue to my room, walking back and forth as I try to gather my thoughts, trying to talk some sense into myself.

No wonder you’re still a virgin. Scaredy cat.

As I slowly pace across my room, my eyes notice something unusual on my bed. With a frown, I walk over to my bed, picking up the folded note. My fingers tremble as I unfold it, my eyes scanning the messagewritten hastily. It feels like all the air around me is sucked from my lungs as I stare at the words.

It feels like I’m gonna hurl. The note is written in red ink, just like the first one. And signed with the letter ‘A’,justlike the first one.

Caden comes into the room and walks towards me and I quickly toss the note in between my bed and the nightstand.

He quietly approaches from behind, his fingers delicately moving my hair out of the way as he plants a series of tender kisses along my neck.

With a sigh of pleasure, I close my eyes, attempting to unwind and find solace. However, I can’t shake off my growing concern about that foolish note.

“Do you have any idea how breathtakingly beautiful you are?” his whispered words sent a chill down my back, making my spine tingle.

My left hand ventures upward, gently pulling at the nape of his neck, urging him to continue.

As he unzips my dress, I feel a rush of anticipation and I inhale sharply. He delicately slides the straps off my shoulders, his lips tenderly planting kisses in their wake, a wave of tranquility washes over me. My heart races,my senses heightened, as I surrender to the intoxicating pull between us. The fabric clings to my drenched skin, begging to be torn away.

As he tries to unclasp my bra, I turn my head to the side, my heart pounding in my ears. A gasp escapes my lips as I see him.

The dark shadow that's been haunting me.

Standing outside my window, the dark figure watches us intently. Oblivious to my sudden stiffness, Caden continues to devour my neck and shoulders, desperate to remove my bra. Frozen in place, I can’t tear my eyes away from the mysterious figure outside. The air feels heavy, making it hard to breathe.

Fear and arousal intertwine within me, a dangerous mix. Still, Caden remains oblivious. As he struggles with my bra, I notice the dark figure tilting its head, as if puzzled by my lack of reaction to its presence.

Snapping back to reality, I know I will regret this, but I can’t lose my virginity like this. Gathering my courage, I pull away from him and utter, “Wait, Caden.”

He forcefully tugs at me, his grip tightening as he leans in for a kiss. “Caden, I said stop!” I shout, forcefullyshoving him away, feeling the resistance in my palms as he stumbles backward.

His face contorted with anger, a deep frown etched across his features. The room fills with tension as he glares at me. “What the fuck, Starlet? I thought you wanted this,” he snarls, his voice dripping with frustration. My voice barely escapes as a whisper, “Yeah, well, not anymore.” The air hangs heavy with disappointment, the sound of metal jingling as he grabs his keys, and storms out of the room.

I turn towards my window, and the darkness that was once shrouding it has dissipated.

He’s gone.

The sound of a loud slam fills the air as Caden forcefully shuts my front door. I hurriedly made my way to the window, eager to catch a glimpse of him as he hopped into his car and zoomed away.

Out of nowhere, a new set of headlights illuminated the darkness, catching my attention in an instant.

In an attempt to see better, I squint my eyes, hoping to catch a clearer glimpse. He too disappeared into the night in the same direction that Caden had gone, leaving only the sound of his tires screeching on the pavement.
