Sweatyandprobably horny people dance around us, grinding and rubbing against each other. Despite my initial hesitation, I can't help but get caught up in the energy of the moment and start to move to the rhythm of the music.
I can feel the beads of sweat forming on my forehead and slowly trickling down my face. The heat is so intense that my clothes are clinging to my body
I initially planned on wearing my favorite skinny jeans. However, I changed my mind at the last minute and went with a short, tight-fitted olive green dressthat I had recently bought. While I was happy with my choice, I started to question my decision to wear high heels as my feet were already aching. Despite this, I was determined to have a good time and dance the night away, even if it meant taking my heels off and going barefoot.
“Holy shit, look at that man candy right there!” Chloe exclaims, pointing in the direction of someone.
As I turn my head toward the direction she is pointing, my eyes meet the gaze of a strikingly handsome man. With a chiseled jawline, piercing blue eyes, and a confident smirk on his full lips, he looks like he just stepped out of a fashion magazine.
He continues to stare directly at me, undeterred by the chaos of the crowded club. Despite feeling a little self-conscious, I can't help but smile back at him, feeling a sudden rush of exhilaration. Before I can fully process what's happening, Chloe begins waving him over,
“What are you doing—no, stop!” I beg her, but of course, she just shrugs me off.
“Hi there.” his warm breath tickles my ear, and my skin erupts in goosebumps. As I turn around, my eyes fall upon him and my jaw nearly drops at the sight.
“Hi,” I respond with a sweet smile.
His beautiful ocean eyes were captivating and drew me in immediately. I also noticed a subtle slit cut into his left eyebrow, which added an extra touch of uniqueness to his already striking look and I couldn't help but notice his perfectly straight and white teeth as he smiled at me.
“I’m Caden, what’s your name, beautiful?”
God, he’s so–
“Starlet, but everyone calls me Star.”
He smiles, baring his teeth that can make any woman melt into a puddle.
“Star… I like that. Can I buy you ladies a drink?” With a nod, he leads us to the bar. Chloe smirked at me over her shoulder, making me roll my eyes at her.
Sitting at the bar, Caden orders shots for all of us and I can't shake the feeling that something about him seems so familiar.
I gulp it down, the alcohol burning my throat and making me scrunch up my nose.
“Not really a drinker, are you?” Caden asks, watching me with an amused look on his handsome face.
“Not really, no. Well, not shots anyway, but give me a bourbon and I’m good to go.” I respond, making him chuckle.
Right after saying that, Caden orders me a glass of bourbon.
Okay, he’s coming home with me.
Sitting at the bar, Chloe and Caden seem to be in a deep conversation, making me zone out. I turn my stool slightly to the left, hoping to catch a glimpse of the dance floor. As I do, I notice something strange in the corner of my eye.
In the corner, behind the couches—where a couple is sucking each other’s faces off, my eyes fixate on a mysterious figure. He's dressed entirely in black, from his head to his feet, and his hood is pulled up, casting a shadow over most of his face. Despite the distance between us, I can feel his eyes on me, watching my every move with an unnerving intensity.
Oh my.
Is that the same guy I saw across the street?
What does he want?
Maybe just a coincidence.
The hair on the back of my neck is standing upright, and my palms have turned clammy. His demeanor made me feel uneasy.
Caden looks at me after a few minutes, his smile fading. “Are you okay?” He asks, with a concerned look.
I look at him, pursing my lips. “Mhm,” I respond, nodding my head.
