“Correct. I’ll rephrase.Whodid you think that conversation was about?”
She shakes her head. “No. No way. I’m not agreeing to that.”
“Why? Scared?”
“Because that’s a fucking trap. I’m not tying my life to anyone as a companion under all those barbaric ‘you own me’ rules.”
I take a step toward her. “We do own you.”
She balls her fist and swings. I duck, swing her around, putting her back to my front again. I reach between her thighs, toying with her clit. “And you own the three of us.”
“And I’m supposed to drop Wolfe? The man who’s been there for me no matter what?”
I shuffle us forward, toward the mirror. “We know how you feel about him. We’re not saying that needs to change. We’re not sayingyouneed to change. We’re all in, Nem. We want you. We want a future with you, so whatever your plans are after college, better include us.”
“And if they don’t? What if I don’t want you after graduation? What if my plans are to find someone new? Someone who makes me feel good. Happy. Someone who never treats me like a problem they need to control or eliminate. Someone who never hurts me.”
This someone doesn’t exist, but he could. Hearing her describe this fictitious person, I suddenly understand the madness Finn and Holden feel for her. Their obsessive need to own her.
I gather her ponytail in my fist, and slip my cock between her legs. “There is no one else for you. There is nowhere you can go, no life you can live, no situation exists where I won’t hunt you down and find you, and when I do, I’ll chain you to my bed and lock you in my house. Everyone will think you’re dead, because you’ll never see the outside world again.”
She’s still struggling to get away from me. “Let me get this straight. If I don’t do what you want, I’ll be a prisoner?”
“You say prisoner.” I ease out and slam back in. “I call it coveting what’s mine.”
Her tits are pressed against the mirror, her breath fogging up the glass. I watch her, captivated by every expression that crosses her face, as I rut her from behind.
“You’re mine, Nem. I may not be yours yet, but I will be.” I grunt. “I’ll earn that right. All I need is a chance.”
She tightens around me, my knees buckle, as I shoot my load. The mirror squeals as I peel her off the glass. Dragging my lips across the nape of her neck.
She disentangles herself from my arms, silent as she fixes her clothes. When she’s done, she stands on tiptoe, pecks me on the lips, and says, “Make it count.”
Chapter74
Thea
“Hey, Nemesis.” Pax says with a smile as he pulls me into a hug.
I don't think I’ll ever get used to the soft teasing sound of his voice, or the way he folds me into his body when he hugs me. I know his hard edges, his fighting stance, and his overbearing side. That’s overwhelming enough. But this is the shit that makes me want to roll over and show him my belly. Especially with the way he’s humming and making his chest rumble.
He asked me to give him a chance and so far he hasn’t massively fucked up. I haven’t agreed to this asinine plan of theirs. Not officially. The way they explained it, they want to sign a contract telling the world we’re in a four-way relationship.
Later, there would be a second contract permanently binding us all together. Creative word play doesn’t change what it is. Marriage.
“What’s wrong?” He asks when I sigh as I slip my phone in my back pocket.
“Wolfe’s on another scouting trip. I thought he’d be back by now.”
“Are you worried?”
“Pissed. I wanted to take advantage of the council being on vacation and work on some new moves. I didn’t know he’d be away on a work trip at the same time.”
I also want to talk to him about this group thing in person. They say if I do this, it won’t affect my relationship with Wolfe, but that’s not their call. Paperwork.A contract. That’s more binding than simply saying I’m involved with all of them.
Pax staggers backwards with his hand over his heart. “You wound me.”
“Is that a request?”
