The ache between my legs was unbearable. I needed him.
“Please, Maddox, I want you,” I whispered, my nails digging into his neck, my voice strained with longing.
He smirked, his lips brushing mine in a slow, deliberate kiss.
“And you’ll have me, I can promise you that… but first, come with me.”
His words left me confused, my body aching for him, yet I followed him through the apartment, a little more bewildered with each step.
Maddox never refused sex, not ever. So why was he now?
When we entered the living room, everything suddenly made sense—andyet, I was still speechless. The room was transformed. The low lighting only accentuated the lavish display before me.
Black roses, so many black roses, covered the table, their dark petals a contrast to the diamonds glittering in their luxurious boxes. But it wasn’t just the roses that caught my attention.
I froze, unable to tear my gaze from the table.
There, neatly arranged in front of me, were at least thirty rings—each one more stunning than the last.
Diamonds, sapphires, emeralds—each ring unique in its own way, all of them waiting to be chosen.
“Maddox, what’s going on?”
My voice barely rose above a whisper as my heart pounded, a mixture of shock and wonder flooding my veins.
His presence behind me was solid, his hands wrapping around my waist, pulling me close as he whispered in my ear.
“I didn’t know which one to choose, so I bought them all for you.”
His words, soft and intimate, sent a wave of emotion through me. I turned slightly in his arms, my eyes wide, as I took in the sight of the rings. Each one seemed to hold a story of its own. His fingers brushed along my waist, grounding me.
“Maddox, these must be worth a fortune.”
Who was I kidding? Of course, they were.
Every single one of them was perfect, flawless down to the smallest detail.
Maddox laughed, the sound rich and deep, sending a rush of heat down my spine. His hand slid to my pelvis, his fingers squeezing gently, possessively.
“Pick your favorite, baby,” he murmured against my skin, his voice low and sultry, making my breath hitch. “You’ve got enough here to change them every day of the month.”
“I can see that,” I replied, trying to keep my composure, but inside, I was trembling with excitement and confusion.
“Do you want me to buy you more so you can change them every day of the year?”
I laughed, thinking he was joking, but when I turned to look at him, I saw the seriousness in his eyes.
“No,” I hurriedly responded, suddenly realizing that if I had said yes, he wouldn’t hesitate for a second.
“Pick your favorite, princess.”
My eyes immediately locked on one ring—a massive white diamond that sparkled like it was alive. It stood out from the rest, a clear choice. I reached out with trembling fingers and picked it up, offering it to him.
He took the box from my hands and turned my body toward him, his gaze never leaving mine as he held the ring, sinking to his knees.
“If I put this ring on your finger now, that means you’re mine forever,” he said. “There’s no going back. You’ll never get rid of me.”
I swallowed, my breath shallow as I stared into his dark eyes, the intensity in them matching my own.
