“Yes, sir.” Logan nodded.
His boy was cute. Flustered having Lucifer’s attention. Dean wasn’t so happy with this visit. He’d been meaning to call his friend back, but a lot had been going on.
“What happened?” Lucifer demanded. He picked Logan up, causing the boy to squeak. Gently, he set Logan on the stool he’dbeen seated at earlier as Dean glared at him. Dean did not like seeing another man touching his boy.
“My leg got caught in a bear trap when I was shifted.”
Lucifer growled as he knelt on one knee. “You poor thing.”
Logan’s eyes grew round and big as magic filled the kitchen.
Dean might be powerful, but he wasn’t Lucifer.
“There. That should do it.”
“Mister…I mean, Lucifer, thank you! Dean did so much to heal but the pain is finally gone!” Logan pushed up and this time it was him hugging Lucifer.
Dean was aware how much it meant to Lucifer that Logan was no longer afraid and willingly touched him. Lucifer craved the acceptance of others and Dean was proud of his mate. Lucifer’s existence hadn’t been an easy one. Dean was happy to call Lucifer a friend but other paranormals feared the king of hell.
His gaze caught Lucifer’s and Dean nodded.Thank you, he mouthed.
“Now!” Lucifer held Logan by the shoulders. “You should be all healed up but that doesn’t mean you can step into any more traps.”
Logan giggled. “I didn’t do it on purpose!”
“Of course you didn’t, you sweet boy. But next time, call me. I know you and Gage talk all the time on the Facing book or whatever. You should have told him you’d been hurt. We would have come sooner.”
“I’ll tell him next time,” Logan promised. “I didn’t want to be a bother.”
Dean had no idea that Logan was that close to one of Lucifer’s mates. And he hadn’t even thought of calling his friend.
“I’ll remind your alpha tonight. This goes for all your family.”
Logan beamed at him.
The swinging door slammed open. “Luci!”
Lucifer had his arms open as Noah raced across the kitchen. He jumped into Lucifer’s arms, hugging his neck tight.
“Hello, my friend. It is good to see you.” Lucifer cuddled Noah tight.
“You found your mates!” Noah began to pepper kisses over Lucifer’s cheek. “I knew you would! You deserve a mate more than anyone! And you got two. I’m so happy for you.”
Lucifer became teary-eyed. “Thank you, Noah. That means a lot to me.” He set Noah on his feet and Noah immediately started to dance around.
“I already got to talk to Gage!” Noah announced. “Logan and he are friends on Facebook, and we chatted before we Facetimed. We’re both black cats! I can’t wait to shift with him. When can I meet him?”
“He is currently at the alpha house with Cary. They’re hanging out while I came to talk to Dean.”
Noah turned those excited eyes to him. “Please!”
Dean knew it wouldn’t do him any good to try to get Noah to finish cleaning up, since they’d closed for the day already. “What’s left out front?”
“Just mopping! Please!” Noah begged.
“I’d be happy to mop up for the day,” Logan offered. “Gage would love to shift with Noah. It’s important.”
Now it was two against one.
