“Fine. But I’ll mop up,” Dean said.
“Yes!” Noah screeched. He kissed Lucifer’s cheek one more time before popping out of the kitchen.
“That boy.” Lucifer shook his head. “I’m glad he hasn't changed. Noah needs friends like that.”
“Did Cary bring his Satan, demon, and angel toys?” Logan asked. “Nate has been dying to play with him. Nate has the custom house that Bo built for him ready to go.”
“He did indeed bring them. Asmos even made some of all of you. They were very excited. And loud.”
“That’s awesome!” Logan replied.
Damn it! “Would you like to go back to the house as well?”
Logan frowned. “No, I want to stay with you. And I can mop! My leg is all better now.” He even shook his leg in Dean’s direction.
“Fine.” Dean didn’t want to fight with his boy. Logan was a helper and if mopping made him happy, then Dean needed to let it go. As much as he wanted to constantly spoil Logan, his mate was a doer. Needed to help.
Logan climbed off his stool to come over to Dean’s side. “Thanks. I think Lucifer wants to talk to you, so I’ll get busy. Don’t forget to finish the cupcakes. We promised.”
Ah, theplease forgive me for almost running awaycupcakes Logan promised his family. Yeah, Dean needed to finish those. He also had a plan to decorate something special for his boy. Very pink and pretty. Dean was even pulling out the edible glitter.
“I’ll finish up and then we’ll go home,” he promised.
Logan skipped from the kitchen, and it did make Dean pleased to see the limp gone. He hated that Logan had been hurt. Dean didn’t know if he would ever forget the sight of his mate hurt and trapped. He was still angry about that damn bear trap.
“Thank you for healing him. I should have thought to call.”
Lucifer crossed his arms over his chest. Dean knew that look. He wasn’t going to make it out of this visit without a lecture.
“I have been rather busy,” he defended.
“Too busy to return my messages?” Lucifer asked.
Fuck! “I might have been avoiding you. You did threaten to hunt me down, throw me in the pits, and take Logan to your personal plane so I couldn’t find him.”
“I should have done it too.”
“Why don’t you tell me about your mates instead? I can’t believe I had to learn that you have two mates from Logan!”
“If you’d been here with your mate where you belonged, you would have met them on Christmas Eve,” Lucifer pointed out.
He sighed. Dean was not going to win this argument with Lucifer. He strolled to the counter where he had left the cooling cupcakes that needed to be decorated still.
“Lucky for you that your mate is very proud of you and told mine. I made arrangements for the boys to have a playdate and Axel invited us to stay for family dinner. That gives us plenty of time to catch up.”
“I’m happy to see you,” Dean replied honestly.
“Axel caught me up on everything. I don’t know anything about your old coven leaders, but I have made some calls so hopefully one of my demons will report back with information.”
The demons that Dean had contacted hadn’t had anything for him. “I appreciate it.”
“Now, as for my visit.” Lucifer waved his hand. A book appeared on the counter.
Dean cursed before throwing a protective barrier over the item that oozed blood magic. “What the hell? Why would you do that? My mate is in the next room!”
Lucifer frowned.
“That’s blood magic, Luci,” Dean pointed out. He was vibrating with anger. Not at Lucifer but just at having something so dangerous around his mate.
