“I think he was so nervous about the playdate he didn’t realize how much he was allowing me to help.” Byron turned back to Grant. “But I know and I’m telling you that boy is going to be mine.”
Grant grinned. He wouldn’t bet against the Professor to have the older lawyer on his knees soon. Mitch might be fighting the attraction to Byron but he was attracted. Even now Mitch would send quick glances in Byron’s direction to see if he was watching him or not.
“Here you go guys,” Jace passed out new beers.
“Thanks.” Grant lifted the bottle to his lips and tilted his head back. He really meant that they needed to do this more often. Maybe next time it would be at his and Caleb’s house.
“Things look to be going good with your boy,” Jace motioned toward Caleb.
“Couldn’t be better,” Grant agreed. “I’m moving in with him.”
Jace laughed as Byron groaned. Grant glanced at his friends.
“I knew it,” Jace told him. He held his hand out to Byron.
“You couldn’t hold out another month?” Byron grumbled as he took out his wallet and removed a twenty. He slapped the cash into Jace’s hand while glaring.
“You’ve got to be kidding,” Grant laughed. “You two bet on me?”
“Of course we did,” Jace replied.
Grant shook his head. “You don’t think it’s too soon?” He didn’t want to ask but he needed to hear what his closest friends and fellow Daddy Doms thought.
“I would have had Avery living here the first night he ever stayed if I could have. When it’s right you know,” Jace answered.
Byron nodded. “I agree. That boy is perfect for you. Hold onto him.”
“Yeah, he is perfect for me.” Grant turned his back from the boys still playing. They’d take turns winding up the bubble machine before letting go and filling the entire yard with huge bubbles. “That reminds me. I need your help.”
Both men stepped forward. “What’s up?” Jace asked.
“Caleb is leaving for a modeling job in a few days for about two weeks,” Grant told them.
“I thought he was done modeling?” Byron questioned.
“He let himself get talked into another job. It won’t be a problem in the future.” He patted the pocket that held Caleb’s phone. “But he already signed the contract and has to do it.”
“That sucks,” Jace commented. “What can we do to help?”
“While he’s gone I’m going to remodel the guest room into a playroom as we talked about,” Grant said.
Jace grinned. “Awesome.”
“I’d love to help,” Byron told him.
“Thanks,” Grant lifted his bottle. “I have a rough idea of what I want. It has to be perfect. Caleb deserves to have his own space to be comfortable in.”
“That boy is so happy he practically floats,” Byron said. “Just do what feels right.”
“I think the burgers are done. We need to wrangle those boys to get them to eat,” Jace said.
Grant sighed. This should be fun. He grabbed Byron’s shoulder. “I’ll do it. You go get their plates ready.”
He set his bottle down before giving a sharp whistle. All three boys froze and looked at him.
“Who’s hungry?”
Three hands went up.
