“Then it’s time to get cleaned up. You three are all soapy.”
Caleb was the first to shake his head. “Not done playing Daddy.”
“We’re having fun,” Mitch added.
“So much fun!” Avery piped up.
Grant sighed. “I guess we don’t have good boys who want cupcakes after lunch.”
Caleb jumped up and down. “Princess cupcakes! Princess cupcakes!”
“Cupcakes!” Avery shouted.
Caleb grabbed Mitch’s arm when he noticed his friend wasn’t jumping around. “Cupcakes!” Caleb told him seriously before he began to drag Mitch with him where Grant was standing. “We’re ready to eat Daddy!”
“I thought so,” Grant replied smugly. He grabbed Caleb and tickled his belly before wrapping his arm around Mitch’s neck. He couldn’t have Mitch feeling left out even though he’d have a Daddy of his own if he’d give Byron a chance.
Mitch beamed at him before leaning close to his ear. “I don’t really eat cupcakes,” he shared.
Mitch never had been much of a sweet eater. “I think it might be worth it today.”
Mitch nodded. Grant watched as Mitch’s gaze went to the porch where Byron was making up plates as Grant led the boys in to get washed up. The longing on Mitch’s face broke Grant’s heart.
His friend was so scared to take a chance that could be the best thing in his life. Grant wanted to help Mitch he just didn’t know how.
It was sweet watching the three boys hold hands as they raced inside when Jace opened the sliding door.
Mitch needed more time to be his boy. If hanging with Caleb and Avery gave him that maybe it would also help Mitch to open up. To accept him finding a Daddy of his own. Grant thought Byron was perfect for his friend. If not Byron, someone, that would make Mitch happy.

Grant
Grant gave the brand new playroom one last look. His boy would be getting home in a couple of days and with the help of Jace and Byron, they’d managed to get everything done. The surprise would be just what his boy needed to come home to.
Each night when he talked to Caleb it was all he could do to stop himself from flying halfway around the world to go get his boy and bring him home. Caleb was not enjoying his modeling job and was worn out.
This playroom was exactly what his boy needed.
With the help of Jace and Byron, the walls were painted a light purple with princesses and their animals dancing around. He’d used the same artist for the murals as Jace had for Avery’s nursery. It had been worth every penny.
The white daybed with the purple canopy was perfect for nap time. The large white dresser held his boy’s pretty clothes perfectly. Grant had added so many more outfits. There were now three drawers full of his boy’s panties and stockings.
The kitchen set had been expanded along one wall. More cabinets, a play microwave, even a play dishwasher.
A vanity with a mirror and racks for dresses up along another wall.
There was a new tea set on the little plastic table with four chairs.
And so many other toys.
Right in the middle of the floor on a fluffy pink rug was Caleb’s giant teddy bear. He could lay on his bear and see the entire room.
It was perfect. Just like his pretty baby.
Grant was glad he’d made the requirement that they shared an account for the household. He’d never had been able to afford to finish the playroom so fast if it wasn’t for the money.
It still felt strange that Grant couldn’t afford to buy his boy whatever he wanted but this room was proof that he was doing the right thing. The money in the account would be used to spoil his pretty baby rotten.
