“To steal it, likely.”

I laugh. “Let them try.”

Arkin sniffs. “There are thousands of these manholes around the city. Gonna go to the sewer facilities and ask for maps. Real paper ones, not the Telean holographic shit.”

We hate tech. Humans and Teleans love their tech. I grunt in approval. “Tell me about the Omega register.”

“What of it?”

“Are you missing an Omega?”

“I do not miss, my prince. Your liberties are to blame for Omegas failing to register. They believe if it’s not written in their law books and papers and proclamations, it is optional.”

I lean my elbows on the table. “I don’t know what gave them that impression.”

He shrugs. “Something did. Betaren should be eliminated.”

“The mayor is hunting down the manufacturers.”

“Now that it has reached the population, you can’t leave such important work to a human and her goonies.” Arkin nods and twists his braid. “You’ve marked a hound for the PA?”

“I have.”

“This makes me happy.” He smiles.

“Send out the Collectors. Mark all Omega homes as my father used to do.”

“Consider it done.”

I nod. “Make sure you skip my assistant’s home.”

He widens his eyes and opens his mouth to argue. I raise a hand. “I will visit with her personally.”

“Why this Omega, Raven?”

“I don’t know.” I scrub my jaw. “But there is something about her.”

“There can only be one for you.”

I bond with venom, not scent. If an Omega is not compatible, she dies. Hence the reason I don’t pursue Omegas. It is pointless if I can’t bond for life. I want what my parents have, love that transcends all boundaries, and I refuse to serve an unmatched Omega during her heat just to kill her when I wish to bond. “Speaking of Omegas,” I say as Anna exits the elevator, heading for my office, a black garment bag in hand. She pauses as she sees me with Arkin, who has spun around.

Anna is very beautiful. She makes me want to release all that abundant brown hair and fist it. Those brown eyes need to be looking up at me as she tries to swallow my dick down her throat.

My cock pulses.

Soon.

I wave her inside.

Anna lifts the garment bag. “Excuse me for interrupting.”

“Eyes on the floor,” I bark at Arkin, who knows better.

Anna lowers her gaze and proceeds to the wall and stands there biting her lip. I think she wants access to my private quarters. Amusing. “Press your palm against the wall.”

She does, and the hologram scans her prints. From my panel on the desk, I grant her access to my closet and also the wall on the other end, separating my office from my private quarters.

Anna walks inside.
