Jace opens his eyes then, grinning at me. “Mmm… and why have the chickens got regular names?”

“As opposed to?”

“Galactic names?”

“If that disturbs you, I promise we’re naming all our future pets after Star Wars characters.”

He rolls toward me and kisses my sternum over the sheets. “What about real babies?”

I chuckle. “Perhaps we stick to normal names?”

“You’re right.” Jace nods, accompanying the statement with a yawn. Then he snuggles into me and I hold him close.

“I love you.”

“I love you,” I whisper into his hair.

“Now, what were you saying earlier about making a baby? Because I’d be totally on board with resuming that topic,” he says—lids heavy with sleep.

“Really? Because you look more ready to pass out.” I gently stroke his hair. “How about we reopen the discussion in the morning?”

“Deal.” He kisses me on the cheek, then closes his eyes. “Goodnight, Princess.”

I’m about to reply when I hear him snoring softly. I can’t help but laugh and turn off the lights, feeling more at peace than I have in forever.

I wake up first. Jace is still asleep, naked, and sprawled on his stomach, hugging a pillow. His hair is messy and there’s a sexy, one-day’s worth of stubble on his chin.

He’s my husband.

Yesterday’s events swirl in my head as a vortex of joy, love, and naughtier stuff…

I run a finger over his shoulder blades, and Jace stirs in response. His eyes flutter open, and he looks around dazedly.

When he sees me, he smiles, his voice still thick with sleep. “Good morning, beautiful.”

“Good morning,” I answer, my heart singing.

Jace turns to face me, cocking his head to one side, tracing a finger down my jaw to my collarbones.

We’re still naked and tangled in each other’s arms. “You want to…?” he whispers, his hand moving down my back.

“I would love to, but…” My stomach churns with a spectacular grumble, answering for me.

“But I’d better feed you first,” Jace assesses. “Should we order breakfast in bed or do you want to go out?”

If I could, I’d never leave this bed. I peek out the window. It looks like Chicago is in a mood today.

Jace follows my gaze to the window. “Room service, then.”

“That would be fantastic.”

He turns to grab the room’s phone, and I slip out of bed and into the bathroom to freshen up.

It’s only after I’m done washing my face and brushing my teeth that I realize I forgot to put on any clothes. I’m about to step out of the bathroom when Jace steps in, dressed in a T-shirt and boxers. He takes one look at me and his lips part in surprise.

I throw him a towel. “Stop staring.”

“Impossible,” Jace says, picking up the wet towel I just threw at him. “You’re too beautiful, Princess.” He approaches me slowly, leaning in to kiss me on the shoulder.
