“Yeah, but he’s not nice.”

“He’s much better than before. He was really broken up about the breakup and he came to work and took it out on all of us employees.”

“That’s terrible.”

“Hey ladies!” Wesley Caldwell appeared out of nowhere and was standing in front of Kathy and me.

“Good morning, Wesley.” Kathy greeted him and gave me a sneaky side eye.

“Morning.” I muttered, wondering if he was here to fire me on behalf of his clown-ass brother.

“Where’s my brother?” Wesley asked.

Kathy sunk down into her chair, leaving me to answer his question. “His calendar says he’s out all day.”

“Out of the office?”

“That’s what his calendar says.”

“Why?”

“I don’t know.”

“You’re his admin. He didn’t tell you why he wasn’t coming in today?”

“No, he didn’t.”

Wesley leaned his entire face over into my cubicle. “Did he call in and tell you anything?”

“No, he didn’t call into the office. Wesley, I don’t have any information. He’s your brother.”

“Isn’t there a product launch at the end of the week?”

“Yes.” I said, but I didn’t think I would be working here at the end of the week.

My cell phone buzzed on my desk. I knew it was Jordyn. She was invested in this horror story just as much as I was.

“Excuse me Wesley. I have to take this.”

Wesley lifted his hands in the air and backed away from me. Goodness gracious.

I answered my cell. “Hey lady.”

“Hey girl, you still at work?”

“I am.”

“Did he call you into the office? Spill the tea. I want to know. Tell me, tell me, tell me.” She begged.

“Girl, he didn’t bring his six foot tall whatever ass to work today.”

“Huh, what?”

“He ain’t here.”

“Is he coming in later?” She asked.

“His calendar says he is out all day.”
