Cain had to practically drag her across the room. “Come on, Pet. We’re going to talk whether you like it or not.”

She stiffened but didn’t jerk away from him. After he closed and locked the door, he released her. She immediately walked across the room and turned to face him.

He smiled because she was still bright red until he got a look at her outfit. Everything he’d wanted to say flew out of his mind. Jesus Christ. “Where the hell did you get that outfit?”

Eden jumped when he barked. “Cat helped me get a few outfits.”

He saw her eyes widen when she let herself look at him.

“Oh my God,” she whispered as her eyes scanned over him.

He crossed his arms over his chest. He was wearing a white silk shirt that was buttoned at the bottom, but open at the top, black leather pants, and the black boots he wore to the club. It was the best fucking compliment he’d ever received, and without words.

“Little sub, eyes on my face.”

He bit his lip to keep from smiling at the effort it took for her to look away from his chest. If she got any more embarrassed, she’d explode, so he had to put a stop to it immediately.

Chapter Eight

She pressed her hands to her face. Oh, Lord. She wanted the floor to open so she could hide.

“I’m sorry you’re embarrassed,” he said.

“I’m sorry I’m here.” She crossed her arms over her chest.

His eyebrows rose. “Really?”

She knew she wasn’t saying it the right way, but she was too flustered to articulate. “Yes, this is your home. You should have the ability to come when you want without a student of yours messing it up.”

“What if I want you?”

Dammit. Just tilting his head made her mouth water and her fingers itch to touch him.

“Do you believe me, Pet?” he asked.

“Oh, I … I’m not sure,” she stuttered.

“Why?”

“Because I’ve seen all the beautiful women here. Younger and in better shape. It would be ridiculous for me to think you’d want me over them.”

“I need you to hear me,” he said as he walked to her and gripped her shoulders with his hands. “I haven’t been this attracted to anyone in my life but you. I’m not saying I haven’t had relationships, but the women always had a few things missing to keep me from going further.”

“You’re saying I have what you want?” She almost snorted. Between her saggy boobs, stretch marks, and cellulite, she was not the type of woman he’d want. “You wouldn’t say that if we’d…if I had been…”

“Been naked?” he supplied.

“Yes.”

“From where I’m standing, everything about you attracts me. It has from the very beginning, and it’s just gotten deeper.”

“Then why now?” she asked. “Why are you telling me this now?”

“I’ve wanted to talk to you privately for the last few days, but something has always come up. I’ve gone to your cabin at night but thought that might be coming on too strong, and the last thing I want is for you to be uncomfortable.”

She didn’t know what to do. Her first instinct was to try to run for it, which was ridiculous. She knew she’d never make it to the door.

“Drop your arms, Pet.”
