Janae taps Mike’s arms before going to the kitchen.

“What’s up, Mike,” I ask, shaking his hand.

“Barely got any sleep, but I’m good. I brought somethings with us I think you might find handy,” he states, smirking.

“Looking forward to seeing what you have,” I return before we join the others.

Sitting at the dinner table enjoying the delicious breakfast GeeGee made, I ask Xander, “What did you find out?”

He picks up his napkin, wiping his mouth, then replying, “Trent Ganino is a naughty boy. Besides owning several strip malls to make it seem like his nose is clean, Trent runs a prostitution ring, as well as trafficking of women, heavy in the drug trade, and owns a BDSM club that you can only gain membership after an extensive background check and even after that, you’re not guaranteed to get in. I have all the addresses to his businesses and his office.”

“Oh my God, Nina! What if he was setting you up to become one of his prostitutes or was getting you ready to sell to his highest bidder,” Janae gasps.

GeeGee sits a fresh pitcher of orange juice on the table, then affirms, “We’re not going to think about that. All that matters is if that’s what he planned to do, he never got a chance.”

“And he never will,” I growl, tossing my napkin on the table. “I’m ready.”

I stand as the other men do the same. Alistair snatches up another strip of bacon, shoving it into his mouth.

Mike snaps his fingers before saying, “Let me run out to the car and get the items I brought.”

“We’ll meet you in the living room,” I tell him, then turn to Nina. “Give us a few minutes, okay?”

She studies my face before answering, “Okay, Janae and I will help GeeGee get started with cleaning up the kitchen.” I bend to give her a quick peck when she puckers her lips up to me, then follow the others.

Mike is coming through the front door with two cases as I enter the living room. He sits one case on the table and the other on the floor, then takes a seat on the couch. He then unlatches the locks, opening the first case and pulls out a metal circular disc about the size of a fifty cent piece. At the top of it is a small button. Mike begins to explain what the disc is used for as he hands it to me, then gives Alistair, Xander, Hendrix and Frankie one.

“The discs might not look like anything special, but they are created to stop the detection of metal. If you press the button on the top, then put it on your persons, it will cloak any metal on your body...including guns,” Mike smirks, letting us in on that bit of information. “You’ll be able to pass through metal detectors without any problems.”

I flip the disc over and over wondering how something so small could do such a thing. “Has it been tested; I mean do you know for a fact it will work?”

Mike smiles wider. “Trust me they work. My company installed a security system in one of those swanky corporate building downtown that had a metal detector. I have a Permit to Carry card, but some buildings still won’t let you bring your firearm inside. It was wintertime, so I was wearing a coat that hid my gun. I turned the disc on before entering the building, then walked straight through the detector, with the security guard telling me to have a nice day.”

I’m going out on a limb and trust Mike’s word. He’s always seemed like a standup guy, so I going to give the disc a try. I put it in my jacket pocket.

“Next,” Mike says, pulling out a pair of sunglasses. “These may look like ordinary black sunglasses, but these babies are special. You know how, night vision glasses work? Well, these are similar, except instead of reading infrared heat, these pick up on metal, more importantly metal used to make guns. If you have the sunglasses on you will know who is packing and who’s not. Here try them out.” He hands them to me.

I unfold the arms, then slid them on. “Well, I’ll be damned.” I could see where Xander had two guns holstered under his arms, one in the back of his pants, and glancing down, one strapped to his ankle. “Xander I can see your guns,” I tell him, then do the same to Alistair. “Alistair, you have two guns under your arms, two on your sides, one in the back of your pants, and two strapped to your ankles. Who the hell do you plan on shooting?” Jesus, he was a fucking walking arsenal!

Alistair laughs, feeling the spots I called out. “You can never be over prepared.” He goes over to Mike and take the pair of sunglasses extended to him.

Mike closes the case once he’s made sure everyone has a pair. “The rest of the stuff I can show you when you get back. I don’t want to hold you up, plus the disc and glasses will probably be all you need for today anyway. I’ll stay here with the ladies while you’re gone.”

“I really appreciate this, Mike. Let me know what cost for all of these are and I will cut you a check when we return,” I state, shaking his hand again.

“Not a problem,” Mike returns, as the girls come in.

“Are you all set,” Nina asks, wrapping her arms around my waist.

“Yeah, we’re getting ready to head out. I’ll call...shit I forgot you need to get a new phone. I’ll pick up a new one on our way back. Anyway, I’ll just call the house phone, to let you know I’m okay.”

“Alright,” Nina says with a small pout. I know she still wants to come, but she’ll just have to get over it.

I pop her on the butt, then say, “We already talked about this. Mike is going to stay here with you guys. Brian and the guards know no one is to come here without my permission. We’ll be back as soon as we can.”

“You better make it back here in one piece or I will be going after his wanna be gangster ass myself,” Nina huffs.

I chuckle kissing her cheek. “I know baby, I know. Alright fellows, let go.”
