As I stare at him with defiance, Zar stands saying, “Fuck it! I’ll just throw some shit in a bag.”

He turns to leave but I stop him. “Wait!” Zar slightly turns his head waiting for me to tell him what I need.

After giving him a list of everything I thought I would need and where to find my luggage, I sat on the couch going from shook to pissed. How dare Trent send his goons to my damn house! Did the time we spent together mean nothing to him? I hate to admit it, but Zar was right. I thought his ramblings about Trent retaliating was nonsense. This just proved everything he said was true.

Speaking of Zar, that man with his glorious dick and hands. Lord. My pussy jumps just thinking about all of that meat moving inside of me. Honestly speaking, no other man has ever made my body respond the way he does. They could make me cum but there was always something missing and last night made me realize it was Balthazar who was missing. His touch, his scent, and his way to makes me feel as though it was just us. It’s funny how one night years ago can leave a deep impression on your mind, body, and soul. I could call on every man in the world and none of them could never scratch the itch only Balthazar Kourazos could relieve.

The sound of the someone knocking on my back door causes me to slightly jump.

“Nina, that should be Alistair and Xander. I told them to come to the back door instead of the front,” Zar yells from my bedroom.

“Okay,” I shout back, standing.

Picking up my gun from the end table where Zar left it, I stealthily make my way to the back door, then ask, “Who is it?”

“It’s Alistair and Xander,” Alistair confirms.

I peek out the blind to make sure it’s them before unlocking the door. Opening it, I see there is five other men standing behind them. Three of them dressed in long black sleeve black t-shirts, khakis, and work boots. They’re holding large black boxes with handles in their hands. The other two are dressed in expensive dark suits and sunglasses. I move to the side as Alistair steps in first followed by the others.

“How are you, Nina,” Alistair asks with concern.

“I could be better, but I’m alive so that has to count for something,” I impart.

Xander steps forward, placing his hand on my shoulder, then states with a smile, “And we’re going to make sure you stay that way.”

“Where’s Zar?” Alistair questions, looking around.

“Here I am,” Zar states, coming into the kitchen carrying one of my large suitcases and duffle bags. “I think I got everything you requested. Your shoes are in the bag,” he tells me, sitting them down.

“Where are they?” Alistair inquires, referring to the two dead men.

Zar jerks his head toward the hallway. “Last room on the left.”

Alistair turns to the three men with the boxes, snaps his fingers, then points to the hall. They say nothing as they nod, then head to my bedroom.

“So, what now,” I ask, taking off Zar’s jacket, then hand it to him. I grab on of my sweaters hanging on the coat hook by the back door and put it on.

“Alistair and Xander will stay here with my men to make sure everything is taken care of. The cops aren’t here, so that means none of your neighbors heard the shots,” Zar lets us know.

Folding my arms, I cut in, “Yeah they wouldn’t hear them because my neighbor on the right is out of town and the one on the left is elderly and hard of hearing.”

Zar eyes dart between Alistair and Xander before asking, “Good, good. Did you two find out anything?”

“He knows who you are. I don’t know if the old man okayed the hit, but your boy Trent is out to get you,” Xander replies with his sight moving from Zar to me. “and you.” He trains his eyes back on Zar. “It seems he never got over his Grandfather cowering to us Greeks and to find out said leader of the Greeks pulled a gun on him and the woman he was fancying put said Greek first, has bruised his little ego.”

Zar rubs his beard as Alistair jumps in next. “I can take some of our men and put an end to this shit right now.”

“No,” Zar states, glaring at him. “I will handle it. See to this shit here first, then meet me back at my cabin when everything is done. I want this place wiped down from top to bottom. We don’t know what those assholes may have touched when they broke in.”

Alistair rolls his eyes, whispering something under his breath.

“What was that Alistair,” Zar quizzes, raising his brow.

“Nothing, Zar. We got it from here,” Alistair responds, giving a fake smile.

“GeeGee is already on her way to the safe house,” Xander informs.

“Good. Nina, get whatever else you need, and let’s go,” Zar commands as he picks up my bags, then head for the door.
