I stopped at the Stop sign and blew out a low breath, hoping that Carter wouldn’t mess with any of us anymore.
And as I turned the corner to pull onto the next street, I spotted my brother’s car turning onto the road. Since he had fought with Alec the other day, he wasn’t allowed to go to practice, which meant that he was lounging around, doing some shit with …
My jaw dropped open when I saw Mrs. Wolfe in the passenger seat of his car.
CHAPTER49
MADDIE
“Did you see that?” Vera asked when I pulled up to her house.
I had dropped the rest of the girls off at their respective cars at Redwood Academy and nearly sped to Vera’s house because I wanted to catch Oliver with Mrs. Wolfe before he left so I could scream at them both.
What the fuck were they thinking?!
“Who, Oliver and Alec’s mom?” I said between gritted teeth. “Yeah.”
“I didn’t want to say anything with the other girls in the car,” Vera said.
“I hate that bastard,” I growled, pulling to the curb. “He is such a fucking hypocrite.”
Vera’s brother, Mateo, and Blaise Harleen both stood near the front door, holding skateboards.
Blaise dropped his, hopped on it, and rode over to us, pulling open the door. “Kick some ass, Sunshine?”
Once Vera said good-bye, she slipped out of the car and scolded Blaise for ever thinking that she would do something like that. But my girl, V, had some anger in her the way she had completely decked Carter.
I sped down the road toward the Wolfe residence. After a ten-minute drive, I turned onto their road and hit the accelerator to drive faster. Oliver was probably long gone by now, but I wanted to at least try to catch him in the act because that asshole had pissed me the fuck off.
Who the hell was he to tell me I couldn’t see Alec when he was driving around Redwood with Alec’s own mother?! And his father was sleeping with two other classmates of ours?! His parents had never seemed weird as fuck until now. What kind of fetish did they both have, sleeping with eighteen-year-olds?
When I finally pulled up their driveway, Oliver’s car was still parked, which surprised me because Mr. Wolfe was home too. If I walked in on some type of orgy, I would force Alec to move away from here with me for good.
Storming right through the open garage and into the house without invitation, I rushed into the living room.
“Oliver!” I shouted, hands balled into tight fists. “Where are you? And what the fuck are you doing here?!”
Oliver walked out of a back room on the second floor and glanced over the wooden balcony, brow furrowed and the most confused expression written across his stupid face. “Maddie, what’re you doing here?”
“What the fuck is wrong with you?!” I shouted, storming up the stairs. “Really, Oliver?”
Mrs. Wolfe and Mr. Wolfe walked out from the back room, looking just as confused. I grabbed Oliver by his ear, pinching it as hard as I could between my fingers and yanking him back down the stairs.
“Maddie, let go! What are you doing?”
“What the fuck areyoudoing here?” I asked. “You still haven’t answered my question!”
“I’m helping Mr. and Mrs. Wolfe out with something,” Oliver said, yanking himself away from me and clutching his ear. “The fuck is wrong with you? I’m bleeding now because of you.” He looked up at Mrs. Wolfe. “Do you have any Band?—”
I snapped my hand around his wrist. “We’re going home.”
“Oh, of course I do, dear,” she said, scurrying to the bathroom.
Again, Oliver yanked himself away from me and stood his ground, refusing to move anymore. I tried harder and harder, but he continued to stand stoically in the middle of the living room with the smallest amount of blood dripping from his ear.
What a fucking baby.
If he was hurt because of me pinching his stupid ear, how did he think Alec had felt after he kicked the shit out of him during school? I balled my hands into fists, wanting to hurl one right at my stupid brother’s face.
