“Yeah. That you weren’t sure how I felt.” I scratched the back of my head.

“Oh. Parker.” She giggled. “That’s not what I was saying.”

I frowned. “You weren’t?”

“No.” She beamed. “I was saying I love you, and I think I have for a long time.”

“You do?”

“Of course I do.”

I wrapped my arms around her, pulling her against me. “Thank fuck.”

She responded by wrapping hers around my neck. “You’re so ridiculous.”

“I’m new to all of this,” I responded. “Remember? You’ve gotta cut me some slack. I’ve never told a girl I loved them before.”

The smile she gave me was enough to make my heart stop beating in my chest.

“I think after Millie, I was hesitant to open up to people. To my teammates and the idea of love. Because that betrayal runs deep. But you’ve been so patient with me. And yet, you have my entire heart in your hands, Rosie Girl. You’ve had it for a long time.”

“Me too,” she said, her voice breathless. “I was so scared of getting my heart broken again that for the longest time, I didn’t see what was right in front of me. Or maybe it was that I didn’t let myself see it. But you’ve always been the one for me, Parker Phillip Maxwell. I’ve known it since I was eight years old, and damn if I was going to go one more minute without telling you how much I love you. I’minlove with you.”

I was floored. Because damn, if we hadn’t been on the same wavelength. “I think we both need to get better at expressing our feelings earlier,” I said, chuckling.

“Probably,” she murmured, pressing her palm against my cheek.

I brushed a strand of hair behind her ear. “Now, I have everything I could have ever asked for. I’m in love with my best friend, and she loves me back. My teammates are my friends, and they have my back.” I pressed my nose against hers. “Plus, I’m going to be the Captain of the lacrosse team next year.”

“What?” Audrey shrieked, jumping up and down. “You should have led with that! That’s amazing! Congratulations, baby.”

Smirking, I leaned down, kissing her softly. “You were more important. The most important thing in my life.”

She hummed, kissing me back.

“Now, do you want to go back inside and celebrate with my friends, or do you want to go back to your place and we can do some celebrating of our own?” Audrey raised her eyebrows suggestively.

“Back to my place,” I agreed.Definitely.

We’d barely been backin my room before I was slamming the door shut, tugging her dress off over her shoulders. My shirt followed, and then my jeans as Audrey unhooked her bra and shimmied out of her underwear—shedding our clothes and all our barriers. This was real, raw. And it felt so special to be with her like this.

“Parker,” Audrey moaned as I pressed kisses down her neck, over her collarbone, before kissing her shoulder and sucking the skin into my mouth. I liked the idea of marking her so that everyone knew she was mine.

I wanted to memorize her body with my tongue, to trace her curves, every inch of her I hadn’t before. She stood in front of me, completely naked, and I just stepped back to take her in.

Her tits, the perfect handful to fit in mine. Her hips, soft with those little dips, just begging to be gripped. All of her was perfect. Those pretty pink lips. Her cute little butt. That silky blond hair that she loved to wear down, blonde curls tumbling over her bare skin.

“You’re so beautiful,” I murmured, unable to look away.

Audrey’s cheeks deepened in response, taking a step forward to reach out her hands towards me. I let her explore the way I just had. Taking all of me in. Her small, soft hands wrapped around me, sliding down, her eyes glued to the tip of my shaft.

“How is it that no matter how many times I have you, I still want more?” She whispered, wiping her thumb over the bead of pre-cum that oozed out.

“You’re askingme?” I chuckled, dragging a finger between her legs. “I’m insatiable for you, baby. I’d have you for breakfast, lunch and dinner if you let me. Spend all day buried between these thighs.”

I dipped my finger into her slit, finding her wet and ready. “You’re already ready for me, aren’t you, my Rosie Girl?”

She whimpered as I pushed two fingers into her at once, scissoring them between her folds. It wouldn’t take much to have her falling apart beneath me. We were both too worked up. Maybe there was something about saying those three little words to each other that made everything feel heightened.
