“I second that shit,” another man speaks up as everyone turns to face him. “Brynn, it’s nice to meet you. I’m Ghost. If anyone here gives you a problem, you let me know. Know a few members of your family. No one here even told me who you belong to and I know. Respect your grandpa and have met him once or twice over the years. He’s a good man but won’t take kindly to anyone hurtin’ you. Your mom is a badass too. So is your aunt. They’ll put any of these women in their place without hesitation.”
“Thank you. I take after my dad, but my family has taught me all I need to know about defending myself. Been shooting since I was five years old. I’ve taken all kinds of self-defense and other training so I know how to fight. Not by pulling hair and scratching, but actual fighting. I have no problem defending myself as long as I don’t get in trouble and it doesn’t come back on Kingston,” I speak up, staring directly at Morgan as she continues to glare at me. “I’ve dealt with club whores and a house mouse more than a lot of the women sitting at this table with me. The ones I grew up around would put all of you to shame. I suggest you stick to yourself and leave me alone.”
“Hell fuckin’ yeah!” Vault speaks up, clapping his hands together while laughing. “You have to put hands on one of these bitches, I’m not gonna say a fuckin’ word. No one here will. King won’t suffer any blowback either, Brynn.”
I nod at him as he leans down to kiss Annabell on the top of her head before heading back to a table with three men. A Prospect races over to give him an unopened beer before disappearing behind the bar once more. I watch as Vault glares in Morgan’s direction. It takes her several minutes to realize he’s staring at her before she jumps off the couch and races behind the bar with the Prospect. I’m gonna have problems with her for sure. She’s made up some kind of relationship with Kingston in her mind and that’s all she cares about. I’m standing in her way and she’s gonna test her luck with me.
Game on, Bitch!
I’m sitting in thekitchen with the rest of the ol’ ladies as we cook dinner for the club. I’ve been trying to help, but the women have everything down to a science and do their own thing to make the meal come together. When I see someone needing help, I step in to help them as they share stories of Kingston over the years. Well, everyone but Genesis does. She hasn’t known Kingston as long as the rest of the girls here with me. I can’t help but laugh as they tell me about him growing up. Kingston was a little shit and I already know any kids he has are gonna be little terrors.
“So, I don’t wanna know what club you grew up in. But, how was it to grow up in one?” Genesis asks me, curiosity filling her eyes. “I’ve heard the stories from these girls, but you weren’t with a club any of us know as far as I understand.”
“I mean, I didn’t see it as any different than growing up with any other family in the world. The shit bullies would say to me tended to center around being a biker whore. That’s fucking disgusting considering those men are my blood family and the rest I grew up feeling as if they were my uncles. I was an ‘oops’ baby and a lot younger than everyone else in the club so I tended to stick to myself. I made it work even if I felt lonely more often than not. I see a different side of the men in my life than anyone else does. They aren’t assholes to me like they are to the rest of the world,” I answer her honestly as I look around at the rest of the women in here with me.
“I get it. My dad is a fucking asshole to everyone but my mom, sister, and me. He even thinks you’re looking wrong at someone he loves and you’re gonna have the shit beat out of you. He doesn’t ask questions before doling out his punishment either. It used to embarrass the hell out of me, but I’ve learned to accept that’s who my dad is and I wouldn’t change him for anything in the world,” Hope says, a serene smile on her face as she thinks of her dad.
“I get that completely. My male family members are horrible. I think the worst is probably my dad though my grandpa has been known to cause some terrible chaos when one of his girls has had something happen to them. You should’ve seen them when I first started riding a sport bike. They wanted to wrap me up in bubble wrap and never let me leave home. It was funny as hell, but I got through it and made sure they know I was gonna ride whether they liked it or not,” I state, laughter filling my voice as I remember the times my grandpa tried to take my keys and hide them from me because he was scared of me getting in an accident or riding too fast and crashing.
“I wish I had someone like that in my life. I do now, but when I was growing up, I was in foster care,” Genesis says, a sad smile on her face as she remembers those years.
“Well, isn’t this cozy? The ol’ ladies taking in a common slut and making nice with her,” Morgan says walking in the kitchen with a smug smile on her face.
“You really don’t know how to listen, do you Morgan?” Hope asks her as I step up closer to the woman I know wants to test me.
“Bring it, Morgan. ‘Cause as I look around the room, all the women in here with me are respected and two have biker blood filling their veins. Three if you count me. You wouldn’t last five seconds in my family’s MC. The women there would eat you up and spit out your fucking bones without hesitation,” I inform her, watching as her face pales slightly before she stands up straighter and looks me in the eye.
“At least I didn’t grow up riding biker cock pretending my mommy and daddy loved me when in reality no one in your family wants you,” Morgan taunts, hitting a little too close to home.
“I’ve never ridden biker cock a day in my life. Though, I know you can’t say the same. You might be a house mouse now, but you started out as a club whore and nothing less than that. I’m sure every man here who’s single has had a taste of you. I can count on one hand and still have fingers left over from the number of men I’ve been with in my life. Guessing you can’t say the same thing. Anyway, are you truly so desperate that you have to come in here and try to drive a wedge between Kingston and me? You’ve been told no man here will ever make you an ol’ lady. Do you have a golden pussy you believe will make Kingston suddenly decide to leave me alone while being with you? Cause I don’t see that happening. You knownothingabout that man whereas I know more than you ever will after seeing him four times,” I inform her, my voice hard and cold as I glare at her and take in her skimpy clothing and horrendous dye job.
“Kingston will be mine, you slut! We’ve been together and no one knows because that’s how he wants to play things right now. When he’s ready, he’ll introduce me as his ol’ lady and you’re not gonna take that from me,” Morgan says, trying to play a new angle as Hope snorts before laughing hysterically.
“That’s a lie. You have a horrible poker face, Morgan. You can’t lie for shit and make it believable. Kingston hasn’t fucked you and he certainly hasn’t made you any promises about being his ol’ lady. Now, you can either turn and walk away right now or I can beat the fuck outta you for trying to start shit when you have no right to,” I tell her, my voice going lethal as I look at her and judge the determination in her eyes before she lunges and tries to grab my hair. “You’re a weak bitch if you think I’m gonna let you pull my hair. Told you I don’t play that fucking game.”
I pull my arm back and land a punch straight to her nose. She screams and tries to drop to the floor. Knowing that’s gonna be her play, I lift my knee and slam her head off me before she actually hits the floor screaming and crying like a fucking crazy person.
“You bitch! How dare you put your hands on me. When Kingston hears about this, he’s gonna be so mad at you,” she still tries to claim any kind of relationship with him.
“Yeah, that’s not gonna happen. I’ll tell him myself as soon as he calls or messages me. I’m not about to interrupt him when I know he’s busy. Cause, I do have his phone number unlike you,” I tell Morgan as a few guys run into the room to find out what’s going on.
“Just had to push your fuckin’ luck, didn’t ya, Morgan?” one of the men questions her as he stands over her with a smirk on his face. “You were told not to push her and now you’re payin’ the price. None of us are gonna punish Brynn because you wanna be a fuckin’ disrespectful skank. Brynn, I’m Valor. Vault’s my brother. I’m sorry you’re havin’ to deal with this shit.”
“It’s okay. She doesn’t matter to me. For now, I’ve shut her up and if I have to do this again, I will. She doesn’t seem to be too smart if you ask me. It’s only been a few hours since we all had this talk in the common room,” I say, holding out my hand to shake Valor’s.
“Thought she was smarter than what she’s bein’ right now. Never had a problem with her before now. Like you were told, she’s obsessed with King and thinks no one knows. We all did. Now, you’ve taken out the trash. I’m gonna get her out of here. Morgan won’t be seeing you around again. She’s gonna be put on a bus and sent out of Pine View. She steps foot in the city again, I’ll personally make the call to your family,” Valor assures me and I know it’s time to drop who he’s referring to.
“Yeah. Make sure you talk to Blood and not my dad. I think Blood would be a little more pissed off than my dad even though he’s my grandpa. Not many choose to go against his club, but again, Morgan doesn’t seem to be the smartest person,” I say as I watch Morgan’s face pale completely before she starts trembling on the floor at my feet.
I turn my back on her and take my seat once again as we ignore her and continue putting dinner together. No one says anything about what I’ve said as I help put the finishing touches on the meal before we carry it out to the common room so everyone can eat. Not one of the Phantoms look at me as I sit with Hope, Annabell, Vault, and their kids. It’s a good night and I can’t wait for Kingston to get back because I want to curl up in his arms again and sleep. I want him to sleep next to me and wake up next to him in the morning. Forget waiting to forgive him—Kingston is mine for as long as this works between us and I plan on spending every single day getting to know him.
