“It’s 911, Cammie.”

“Oh my god, what’s a nine look like?”

“Somebody tell me where Naomi is,” I bellowed out.

“He’s here to kidnap Naomi,” one girl yelled as I got another slap with a pillow.

“We won’t let that happen. Get him!”

I lay there in a ball, taking their onslaught, and thought about how barging in here was a bad idea. The doorbell was right there—it wouldn’t have taken much to ring it. Then again, I didn’t expect a bunch of sorority chicks to kick my ass.

“Chase?”

Thank fuck—a voice I knew. It didn’t even matter that it belonged to Preston’s crazy sister.

“You know him?”

“Yeah,” Ava answered whoever the fuck asked that. “I think Naomi likes him?”

She thought? Of course, she liked me. Well, maybe not at the moment—I’d been kind of a dick. Also, ten minutes after she decided she liked me, she usually hated me again, but she’d come around. Did I want her to come around?

“So,” I looked up at the blonde holding the lamp with the now smashed in shade. “He’s safe then?”

“Yes, I’m safe,” I barked and jumped up to my feet.

That’s when I heard Tanner.

“Ouch, can someone stop her? This is surprisingly painful.”

He was huddled up in the corner of the hall, trying to avoid the broom handle a girl, Lane I think, was jabbing in his side.

I opened my mouth to help him out but got clocked in the face with a pillow instead. I glared down at Ava, who beamed back at me.

“Did I win?”

“Yeah, sure,” I sighed. “You won.”

One thing was for sure. I was never barging in a sorority house again.

“Look,” I held my hands out, so they knew I was not making an aggressive action. “I just want to know where Naomi is.”

“I think she went out to get spring rolls.”

My brow arched at Ava. Spring rolls? Seriously? Naomi once yelled at me because I put bread on her sandwich—something about carbs. I highly doubted she’d run out for some deep-fried, greasy rolls.

Tanner must’ve escaped his broom-wielding assailant because he strutted in and glanced down at the wooden spoon I hadn’t noticed in Ava’s hand. “Aww, man, did I miss cookie time?”

“No,” Ava’s lips pursed in a frown. “I ran out of coke.”

“Drink or powder? Cause,” Tanner reached in his pocket and pulled out a small baggie. “I got some right here.”

Ava jumped up and clapped her hands before rushing over to plant a kiss on his cheek. I’d never seen him smile so hard. Too bad I’d have to slap that look off his face once I could stop focusing on the white powder in the bag he was holding.

One line couldn’t hurt, right? It’d help me focus, meaning I’d have a better chance of finding Naomi and ending Jax. I could already feel the drugs burning a path up my nostrils and almost reached out to grab it before one of the girls spoke up.

“You really shouldn’t bring drugs around an addict.”

My eyes narrowed on the brunette scolding Tanner with her finger. What did Naomi do? Come home and tell everyone my business? Of course, she did. Girls told each other everything. Figures one of these broads would know where the fuck she was.
